Considering many of the musicians that make up the All-Star Orchestra are coming to San Diego directly from a full season of performances with their home orchestras, it’s a tribute to Mainly Mozart that they are eager to participate. “Artists are so happy to come to perform with us here—they love the collegiality and the strong sense of family that has developed between the artists and the audiences,” Laturno says. “Of course, coming to San Diego in the summer is also a huge draw!”

Francis adds, “Our reputation among musicians really is tremendous. The Mainly Mozart All-Star Orchestra is well known and respected by orchestral musicians throughout North America; to receive an invitation is an incredible honor. We consistently feature the highest concentration of concertmasters and principal players in any one place.”

Looking to this year’s plans, Francis says, “I feel very proud of this festival coming up. Surf Cup Sports Park in Del Mar has become a real favorite, and it so brilliantly achieves that summer festival atmosphere. But I also think the new UC San Diego Epstein Family Amphitheater is going to be a real hit, with good acoustics and a great experience for everyone. We’ll also have the intimacy of The Conrad.”

Francis continues, “The programming includes lots of familiar favorites alongside several new pieces. And whether it’s your 100th concert or your first, we firmly believe that we can help you find your personal connection to this incredible music that helps define each of our lives.”

The festival runs June 15, 17 and 18; and June 20, 22 and 24. For tickets and more info: mainlymozart.org
