WINNIPEG SOUTH END LOOKING FOR DONATIONS FOR THEIR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM

The U17G are going to the 2022 Toyota National Championships! After winning a thrilling MSA Cup final championship game on July 24th to become provincial champions, the WSEU U17G P1 team will now represent our Club and the province at the 2022 Toyota Youth Club National Championships U17 Cup in Surrey, BC Oct 5-10. This team of 21 players and 4 coaches have put in years of hard work and dedication to achieve this accomplishment. It also marks the first time a female team from WSEU has represented Manitoba since 2009. We are beyond excited to compete at this level and are very proud to represent our Club and the Manitoba soccer community on a national stage. We are asking our WSEU community of players, coaches and family members for your help. On average, the total team cost for nationals can run anywhere from $35,000 - $40,000. We don’t have a lot of time, but we are doing our best to raise funds to assist with the travel costs and ensure that all players and coaches are able to attend this once in a lifetime opportunity. How you can help Over the next two months, we’ll be sharing various ways that you can help us achieve our fundraising goal. Please watch your email and follow WSEU on Twitter @wseusoccer and Instagram @wseusoccer for announcements. Bottle and can drive – We’re running a bottle and can drive (beer and malt based beverages only) continuously over the next few months. Our first collection day will be this Saturday, Aug 13 from 11am-3pm at the WSEU Challenge in the parking lot behind the arena. Drop off your empties with us and we can turn them into cash. Raffle – Watch your email and social media for details on our raffle coming soon! There will be some great prizes to be won. Send-off party – Mark your calendars for 7:00 pm on Sunday, September 25 when we’ll be hosting a pizza and beer send-off party at Trans Canada Brewing Co. We’d love for our WSEU community to come together to help send this team off to Nationals with a bang. Beer specials, pizza buffet and prizes to be won. Ticket sales coming soon. Donations – We are also accepting donations. ANY dollar amounts are accepted and greatly appreciated. You may bring donations to the canteen this Friday, Saturday or Sunday at the Grant Park fields, to the WSEU office anytime or you can conveniently etransfer the team at U17nationalswseu@gmail.com, use the password DONATION. We thank our parent volunteers who have come together so quickly to help the team. And, thank you in advance for your support. The team is continuing to work hard both on and off the field to do WSEU proud. Sincerely, WSEU U17G P1 players, coaches and families
