We approach every game as if it were the last, the most important, and that is what we will continue to do again next weekend…”
August 7 Blainville 2 v 0 Rapides Chaudière-Ouest Winner in 2021, AS Blainville again won the Women's PLSQ Cup, thanks to a 0-2 victory against the Rapides de Chaudière-Ouest, Sunday afternoon, at the Stade Desjardins, in Laval. The first goal was scored by Mégane Sauvé who, alone in front of Myriam Labrecque, beat her with a hook to give ASB the lead in the 8th minute of play. Nathalie Brunelle then doubled the lead of the hers when she headed a corner kick into the back of the net in the 76th minute . Sauvé was named player of the game. The playing conditions were extremely difficult, but Blainville nevertheless got off to a strong start, forcing Labrecque to make a first intervention at the start of the match.
The Blainvilloises had most of the possession of the ball – and therefore control of the game – until the opener. Two minutes later, the Rapides' first chance came from the foot of Rosalie Robitaille, but Andréanne Dubeau didn't have too much trouble making her first save of the game. The game was then balanced and the Quebec team came very close to finding the equalizer shortly after the half-hour mark, but the ball went just wide of the goal. Twenty minutes before the second goal, the rapids got four chances, including a free kick that went to die on the crossbar, in the 71st . For a second year in a row, the Blainvilloises have therefore completed the championship-cup double. However, their season is not yet over
