Focus On Search Engine Traffic While there is always constant change on the Internet and therefore many different opportunities to make money, there is one aspect that always offers the opportunity to make really big money, and that is getting a good ranking in the free search engines for popular and profitable markets. Getting a top rank for terms in many niches, for example 'weight loss' 'debt management' etc can bring in unbelievable amounts of cash constantly. That word 'constantly' is most important here because, once you get ranked well, the money will keep flooding in as long as you maintain that position in the search engines listings. Maintenance of your position is a whole lot easier once you have gained that position on the back of a sound online business foundation. People get excited about product launches and the income that they can generate in a short time. There just isn't enough interest to warrant the time you would spend creating the business necessary to profit from it. I haven't looked, but I would expect it would be an easy market to dominate... But why bother when the big dollars are elsewhere? The traffic that sites like Google can send to your offers is phenomenal. Now you also need to understand that the position of those paid advertisements on the pages of Google aren't as effective as the position of the content in the free listings. The hot spot for getting clicks in the search engines is in the top left corner of the page, as represented by the area within the red triangle in the image below...
IMPORTANT: The reason WHY this is the Hot Spot is because people in the Western world are accustomed to reading books from left to right and obviously that means starting at the left (ALWAYS) It is a natural action that is learned from childhood and the very same action is applied to on screen reading of content SPECIFICALLY on search engine results pages. On the Internet people are also accustomed to clicking on links on the left because that is where the majority of websites have their links. All these factors account for that being the Hot Spot in the search engines So where people are making millions in profits by paying for advertising in the top right corner of the search results, others are getting a lot more traffic from their free listings at the top left of the search results, and all things being equal, and provided they have a good landing page and offer, they will be making a whole lot more money and it won't be costing them a dime. Getting listed in Google and getting the traffic that comes with it, seems too hard for most people. Fortunately for you, MOST people believe it is hard because they don't know what they are doing. However - It's not as hard as it seems at first. Getting a first page listing in Google is much like 'Paint by Numbers' If you put the paint in the right places you will get the big picture in the end and that will be a top ranking for your target market. But it's not just about Google (although I will show you why we concentrate on Google) Yahoo and even MSN can still drive a lot of traffic to your sites. As an example, some time ago I had a first page listing in Yahoo for the search term 'Kelly Blue Book' You will see that this isn't even the correct spelling of the word - it is actually 'Kelley Blue Book' << This is Very Important and I Will Refer to This Later That one page generated over $3500 in income each month. That is good income from one website page and one good listing in Yahoo. In fact it is more than many people make online in a year (after years of marketing) With many pages like this you can see how the income can quickly multiply when you get a good listing. Kelley Blue Book and Kelly Blue Book get a reasonable number of searches every month but that term is nowhere near as profitable as many other terms where there are good products that can be sold as an affiliate, or where there is a need for more products in the market that you can create yourself. Very little was done to get that Kelly Blue Book page to rank well because beating the competition was easy. I wouldn't say to target that word because there are so many more profitable markets that are just waiting for people to nab.

Content Sites The fastest way to get pages like this indexed, listed and ranked well is when they are part of a bigger authority site. I create Authority sites that have a lot of content. Most of the content is added (legally) to my sites from article directories, or plr content that I buy. I then have specific pages that I know are going to rank well due to the format of the content that I create. This is what I will be showing you to do... To create the content that makes all the difference between page 1 and page 100. The content that I buy in the form of ready made websites, PLR content, or through outsourcing is purely filler content and is never going to do the job of the content that I am going to teach you to create. The content that I use from the Article Directories is also unlikely to do the job needed. All of these sources of content however, have the potential to be top quality with a little bit of reworking. In the case of the Article Directory content, the changes need to be minimal to retain the overall structure that the author created and the resource box must always be retained to remain legal. There is unlimited content available for free or next to nothing that you should be using on your sites, provided it is good content because that can add value to your site visitors experience and you do need to consider them because they are one side of the equation that puts money into your pocket. The other side of the money tree is the search engines because it is the traffic that they will give you that fuels your business.

Duplicate and Mirror Content Make sure you use all the content that is available to you and don't be concerned with issues of duplicate content. Duplicate content can add a lot of value to your site and even Google understands this. Provided of course that it is good content and not just page fillers that no one would be interested in reading. Some of the biggest and most trafficked sites in the world consist of a large percentage of duplicate content. I have made so much money from duplicate content that I can honestly say Use ALL You Can if you want to build a bigger business. Duplicate content is VERY different from mirror content Mirror content is where you will have many pages on the same site with content that is basically a duplicate of another page on the same site... (Sometimes with a few changes made) You can have the same content as someone else might have on their website, but don't duplicate content on more than one page on a single Domain - that's a big no no! That is what many types of page generation software create and as it also creates low value websites, the search engines give them a correspondingly low ranking in their search results. It can work in the more obscure niches for a short time but that's not where the big money is. The heyday for cloaking, keyword spamming, mass page generation etc has 'faded somewhat' and fortunately those who create real value are getting the rewards they deserve. This process will continue to become all the more important as the search engines use more and more of their resources to 'clean up' the information they deliver to their visitors. Longtail Lower Income OK - back to getting ranked... Obviously there are some markets that are harder than others to get well ranked and that is why so many people go after the longtail keyword phrases with lower profitability but far less competition. Longtail marketing can make you money but you will need to ensure that your time/returns ratio is worthwhile or you will end up doing a lot of work with very little return. This is a problem many people face with the incorrect use of Article Marketing to build their business. With longtail marketing, the low competition also brings substantially lower income earning potential and as marketing online is all about making the most money possible in the least time, with the least effort, there are always compromises to be made. Yes there is more effort getting ranked well initially in the competitive markets however, to make the same sort of income from longtail marketing, or marketing in obscure niches, there is a whole lot more work for a whole lot longer, so it is better to think of this as a faster track to riches, rather than a road that is too hard to travel. With article marketing in particular, which is very labor intensive, focusing totally on the longtail just doesn't make sense because the income that it will generate is insignificant compared to the input. An article marketer will get far better results by building a (even very small) list of customers that can serve as ongoing business for the longer term. That is another subject altogether but I mentioned this to bring awareness to the importance of taking the right action to get maximum results for whatever type of marketing you invest time and/or money in. When targeting longtail keywords and phrases it is to pick up the small amounts of traffic that can in total add up to something worthwhile so when you're creating blogs for longtail keywords and phrases, don't spend too much time creating more content than is needed. You can see that in 0.28 seconds I had a number of places where I could find out how to make a chocolate cake. Some of them are web 2.0 sites. There's EzineArticles and YouTube in the results so you don't need to go to various different places to find what you're looking for because Google will list them all for you in the one place. These sites are worth using as part of the bigger plan (which is to get your site listed in the major search engines) but it is the search engines that will be driving the BIG TRAFFIC Web 2.0 sites are foundation blocks that will help the structure of your business. You should always make use of all the resources that are available, to beat and stay ahead of any competition that is in your market HOWEVER you should never spend more time or money on these resources than the return they can give you. A point in case: There are now literally thousands of social bookmark sites on the Internet. In fact, there are so many of them that if you tried to use them all to boost your business profile, you would never have time to actually create and run the business. Time is money and wasting time with under achieving sources of traffic is costing you money that could be invested elsewhere. Be very careful! And that is why the main focus of this guide is to stay focused on the main source of traffic. When you ask someone something that you need to know and they don't have the answer what do they say? Google it - They don't say Digg it, or Technorati it or Twitter it do they? - It's always Google it.

Understanding Competition If you look at the top of the search results pages in Google you will see they list the number of results for the search term that you have used. Most people think that this is the competition that is 'challenging' for that term or keyword but it's not what most people are lead to believe. Let's take a look at the results for the previous example of the 'chocolate cake' in the following (bigger image)...
If you listen to the uneducated comments that are made on Internet marketing forums, by people who think they have just been listed ahead of massive competition, you will look at the results displayed above and think that there are 9,610,000 people targeting the search term 'how to make a chocolate cake' All this shows is that there are results for web pages that display those words in them, totally approximately 9,610,000 If you look for the search term by adding quotes to your search you will see (in the image below) that there are only (about) 997,000 pages that deserve a mention, and the second result is a 2006 article posted on EzineArticles. The 4 item displayed is a YouTube video from 2008.

Obviously there isn't that much competition after all. But that's not all, because most of those 13,500 aren't regarded by Google as being worthwhile anyway! How do we know this? In the Search Results Click on Advanced Search...

What!!! Google only thinks 5 pages of 100 warrant your search! Not 9,610,000 Not Even 997,000 5 Pages of 100 listings. But wait - there's more... Google only thinks there are 340 listings that you should look at... (As at the time of these screen shots Aug2010)

And here's why... See those comments... In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 340 already displayed You see, they didn't actually list 5 pages of 100 (500) - they only listed 340! The rest of the results are similar and in effect No Competition At ALL! So now, you might be thinking that you only have competition from 340 other websites, but once again it gets even better. Why? Because you don't even have that much competition... If you look through the 340 listings, there are pages that will be totally useless for someone who actually wants to make a chocolate cake. Of the ones that are relevant it would be very easy to get ranked higher than them. Now this is a long tail keyword phrase that I have used in this example and I chose that term because it shows the massive difference between the 'expected' competition and the 'actual' competition that you need to beat.

NOTE: The numbers change all the time and they will continue to do so but the main point I want you to see is, there's a lot less competition in most markets than most people assume.

Google doesn't think there are any worthwhile entries to show you other than the 770 they have displayed! WOW - Only 770 worthwhile listings for the Massively Profitable 'weight loss' market. One Good Keyword and You Could Quit Your Job Even if that was the only keyword you ever did well with, you wouldn't need to go to work at a JOB each day. Just that one search term 'weight loss' could replace your income! Now are you starting to see that You CAN Target the big stuff and win? As at the time of creating this section of the course, there were a considerable number of results that would be of no benefit for people searching for weight loss help, so even though Google thinks there might be 770 worthwhile weight loss links for you to look at, there are in fact a lot less. There are links to sites that have everything from saving gas to ring tones and this harps back to my comments on creating a BIG site that has lots of content on it.... it doesn't need to be your content, and in fact it is better to use OPC (other peoples content) because that way you can get a lot more content online a lot sooner and with all the different writers you get a lot more LSI content as each writer uses their own preferred terms in their writing style. You need at least one big site that you can use as leverage for traffic to your offers. This is the site that will help the search engines to find your Squeeze Blogs when you create them because the regular updates on your Authority site will attract the search engines on a regular basis and when they do that they will find the links to those new Squeeze Blogs. Own the super market not a whole lot of scattered (unrelated) street corner shops. The SqueezeBlogs that you link to your Authority site will be the stalls that pick up the income from people who are within your BIG market looking for specific things IN THAT MARKET Just because you are going for one big market in your business plan doesn't mean you shouldn't be picking up the money that people are still throwing around elsewhere does it? You should remain theme relevant, so your Authority site if you're in the Golf Market should be all about Golf but there's no reason why you shouldn't have content related to Golf resorts and therefore travel (golf travel), or pain relief for older golf players, and so on. Think about the people in your market and what they are really after - what they will buy if it is presented to them. Theme relevance has become extremely important with Google now, and because of this, you will get better results from having all the content on your Authority site focused on the one main theme of the Big Market you choose. That still gives you a lot of opportunity to make money from related areas, as shown above with the golf travel and pain relief for golfers. Now getting back to Google... While you might have lots of content on your site (your own content and other peoples content) you do need to understand that the way you are going to beat the competition for any specific search word/term is to present information to Google that they think people will be pleased to find. Google has a job to do and that job it to present relevant information to their visitors. They rely on us to create the content, and their business relies on the people trusting that Google will send them in the right direction. In an effort to make their visitors happy, they need us to make them happy, and fortunately they are constantly giving us more and more help so we can do just that. Google is getting smarter and they want us to get smarter and they do this by providing the tools necessary to take our businesses to the next level. You can use these tools to your advantage, knowing that MOST people don't use them, or even know how to use them properly.

Understand LSI First The following information was presented in another guide I sold in the past when LSI was a relatively new topic. It is still relevant today and is included here so you can get a better understanding of how it works. If you already have my other guide (that is no longer available) it is worthwhile reading this again as a refresher. Understand Latent Semantic Indexing First and Then Create Some LSI Content You don't really need to know the technical aspects of Latent Semantic Indexing to benefit from it, so we won't go into those details in this training. I will explain this in a more general approach and then explain how you can benefit from knowing this information. This overview will ensure that you have sufficient understanding to apply the techniques that I will teach, giving you the best chance of profiting from the creation of Google Friendly content on your blogs and websites. Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) was patented in 1988. It refers to a natural language process that determines the relevance of a document, based on the occurrence of terms within that document. The best way to understand LSI is by example, so we will use the keyword 'Ford' as there are so many different meanings for this one keyword. Here is a short list where the keyword 'Ford' could be applied to many different subjects: • • • • • • •

You have content on that website and the search engines need to determine how to rank that content. Here is what one article on Ford.com might read... "There are some major changes expected within the motor industry in the next year with some of the biggest companies struggling to make profits. General Motors is no longer the number one auto manufacturer in the world with Toyota assuming the top position" This is a relatively simple opportunity for LSI to determine that the Ford that this site relates to is the Motor Vehicle Manufacturer. In this second example you will see that applying LSI to the document will determine an entirely different niche market. "Naomi Campbell was in the news again after more complaints from a former staff member. Paris Hilton is another who has made the news recently for all the wrong reasons" Once again, relatively easy for the search engines to determine that this "Ford" site is about the Ford Modeling Agency as the article above speaks of two models who have been represented by Ford. And one more article just for comparison purposes "It was during this period that we saw the withdrawal of US Troops from Vietnam. On another front however, there was widespread criticism for the fact that Richard Nixon was granted a pardon for his role in the Watergate Scandal" Once again - LSI would determine that the Ford we are talking about here is Gerald Ford, the former president of the United States. The more 'relevant' the content is to the keyword/phrase you are targeting, the easier it is for the search engines to determine, through the application of LSI, whether your web page should be ranked higher than someone else's in that specific market. There are other factors that need to be addressed, such as back links, but your move to the top will be driven by the content you provide. The quantity of content isn't anywhere near as important as the relevance to the term people are searching for. This is good news, because you can get to the top with less content, provided it is the right content.... And Google Even Tells You What They Think Is The Right Content. They are handing you the information on a silver platter!

Less is More When it comes to Creating the Right Stuff, so for once you can get more benefits for less time and make more money in the process. It is beneficial to split your content into smaller, more targeted segments and use them as specific pages supporting a bigger site. Pages can perform better when part of a bigger site, even when that bigger site has many different topics on it, much like you would expect to find at a news site where the topics are organized into categories but it is common to find everything from sports to business or health information on the one site. This can be seen where content ranks well for search terms even though it the website might have a variety of content in many different niches. How You Create the Right Content You need to decide what market you are going to target and for this example we will assume that you want to sell a weight loss product, either as an affiliate, or a product of your own. You might even want to simply earn some Adsense income by creating the right content and getting a lot of traffic to your web page, or possibly earn income from a CPA (cost per action) offer where your visitors only need to submit their email address and name for you to get paid for their lead. Whichever way you decide to monetize your web page, this is all about creating content that gets traffic... Because traffic, in one form or another, is the lifeblood of your income online. Go to Google.com and enter your keyword or key phrase, surrounded by quotes. For this example we will use the words 'weight loss' Now scroll down the listings on the first page choosing a website that is as close to the top of the results as possible and has some good content on their site Copy their URL as this will be entered into the Adwords keyword tool to get the information you need to create the Top Content

These are the words that you will write your 'filler' content around. The keywords are in the order of the most searched terms first and that is what you want, because even though they will have more competition than the long tail keywords with fewer searches, you need to start the content on your web page with the main keywords/phrases. Creating the content is very easy with the 'seed' words already handed to you and once you become accustomed to writing content 'around' words in this manner it is very easy to target any market with very little knowledge in advance. There is no need for any fancy software, article manipulation scripts and applications or anything else that is more likely to be a distraction rather than a help. There is one thing that I will recommend here as I use it extensively and that is the Voice Recognition software Dragon Naturally Speaking (the same software I used to write this content) It saves hours of time (once trained) and adds a personal touch to the content you create. This is the 'bait' for your web page. The other content is of less relevance provided it is in the context of the niche. Here is an example of content I created using these keywords... If you are searching for ways to lose weight then I have found that the best way to lose weight is to get on to a program that will fit in well with your lifestyle. It might not always seem to be the fastest way to lose weight but often it is the easy ways to lose weight that are the most effective in the long term. That took a few seconds to create because I had the 'meat' of the content already presented to me and I just needed to connect the points. The information flows as it should and there is nothing in it that would make the search engines think it was anything other than good content although this example was a little 'keyword heavy' as I was just writing it to show how to flow with the keywords. It sounds simple doesn't it? And that's what it really is - Simple! It is the simple things that have generated the most income for me, provided they are based on sound business building steps and not some 'pie in the sky' techniques that might work today and be gone tomorrow. There are other factors that will determine how your web page ranks but the on page content is very important for getting ranked well. IMPORTANT: This information will help you to get the formula for success right before you even start creating, or manipulating your content. Manipulating Content? Yes - any content can be reworked to better represent what Google is after to help boost your value in their eyes. Smaller Pages and Keyword Crossover One of the benefits of creating the right content the first time is you can get away with doing a lot less work. If the content you provide is optimized, you don't need as much content to satisfy Google that your page is worthwhile. That's why Microblogging is effective. Microblogging is a form of blogging where snippets of information are created (usually - the size of a regular article - 150 words) They are kept to a minimum but they are often effective at getting good listings in the search engines for targeted words and phrases. Twitter is one of the most popular sites where Microblogging is used extensively. You will see more of this type of information creation in the future, as once again, the necessity for 'Information Now' determines the most appropriate form of media. So where you might have created an article based around a key phrase in the past, you would now get two or three pages created using the same amount of content. IMPORTANT: If you're creating websites for PPC advertising also, make sure you get a copy of Slap Happy because there are some very specific ways that you need to create your websites to ensure you get the highest Quality Score and lowest cost per click and sometimes microblogging won't work as well as the methods discussed in that guide when buying traffic from Adwords The way to add value to these shortened content pages is with keyword crossover. I have colored the keywords so you can see how you would mix them up to create 3 optimized content pages from the top 6 keywords in our list. The main keyword would appear twice and the supplementary keywords once in the next page. You would mix up the order within each segment so you wouldn't necessarily have two of the same keywords following one another as they are listed above. They would be written into the content in a natural manner. Now you are creating more content with less effort and getting more rewards in the process. This is working clever rather than working hard. What I usually do is quickly build a big site using bought content, with no worries about the fact that other sites could have the same content. This is part of the foundation of my business and as such does add value to the visitorâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s time on my sites. Then I use the content that I create to get the good listings in the search engines, because it is unique and created exactly how Google wants it. Fodder for Your Satellite Sites Now that you know how to quickly generate 'Google-friendly' content in less time, you will also have more files of content, albeit smaller files, to distribute throughout the other sites on the Internet that will help your main site become more of an authority site. This is where you take advantage of the power of the Satellite Sites (often referred to as Web 2.0 sites) Web 2.0 is basically the information sharing sites that are available for anyone to express themselves and share their content with one another. Google loves these sites and you can make use of them by using some of that quick content you have created by adding it to sites like HubPages and Wikidot, while not forgetting sites like Blogger.com These pages would all link back to your main site (and I always take the opportunity on these satellite sites to build a list by offering some incentive to take action) You post the original content on your main site and then rewrite that content as many times as needed for the satellite sites. It is really easy to rewrite your own content again and again in a different manner rather than create totally new content. If this seems like a lot of work then I can assure you that it really isn't. You can use software to help you do this and the one I recommend is Unique Article Spinner I have all the software available and this is my choice, HOWEVER - It takes time to set up your initial articles in the first place so don't assume that there is a solution that will satisfy a lazy person. Let's have a quick look at this again in summary so I can point out what you don't need to do... •

Backlinks are the BIG SEO Secret - and for years, contrary to the 'yes it is - no it isn't' advice the marketing gurus feed you... getting good backlinks has always been good for rank and free search engine traffic OK - back to the content that you have created in the example above... You now have some short articles, all highly targeted, rather than the one article you would have had using the old methods. So you post one on your site, and then create a HubPage, a Wikidot page.

This is Where it All Starts Now that you are at this section of the training it is time to get started and I am going to tell you the fastest way to get action in these BIG markets and build your business foundation from there. With what you have read in the previous pages of the GetGoogleWise section of this membership, you will now understand that you can have a piece of the Big Pie and in doing so, rank well for the 'supposedly too competitive' keywords and phrases that are worth a fortune. So here goes... I will start with a screen shot of the Adwords keyword search I did for 'weight loss' and I have highlighted some very interesting words that you need to know about.
You can see the highlighted words are misspellings yet 'wieght loss' gets 74,000 searches in the month of July (estimated) and 'wight loss' gets 12,100 estimated searches for the same period. That is a Lot of Traffic that You Can Target and these are the types of words that you should be looking for. There are thousands of words that are spelt wrong on a daily basis that have massive traffic, in big markets and are worth a ton of cash for anyone (YOU) who goes after them. Google gives you lists of keywords and phrases with these misspelt words that you can take advantage of in most markets and they are a whole lot easier to optimize your pages for than words spelt correctly.

These are not longtail keyword phrases either because more often than not they are only 1 or 2 words/phrases These are words that you will commonly find for all of the biggest and most profitable markets online and you can make a power of money from the people you will get to your sites if you do this right. Now sometimes it is as simple as using articles that you have from (let's say) private label article sites or anywhere where you can get content for free or cheap. You do a simple copy and replace of the correct spelling with the misspelling and you have a page of LSI content with the targeted word in the BIG market. This is the fastest way to get started in these markets and even the traffic that you can get from these words will often be sufficient to give you the income that you desire. As you get traffic and build content on your websites you can add more content that is written for the main (and correct) keyword for your markets. You will already have a sound business base, the traffic and income that you can use to leverage your business higher AND you can (and should) be collecting a subscriber list to market to time and time again. This is one of the best ways to get free, targeted, highly responsive traffic in Big Hot Niches It's not only words that have 'i' and 'e' in them like weight loss. Poeple regularly transpose letters in words when typing and often runwordstogether when saerching for information. It is also comon for people to leave letters out of words and sometimes even add letters when they hit two keys on the keyboaerd by mistakew There's gold in other people's errors and here's the really good part... There are considerably more spelling errors in the search for information in the BIG Markets SIMPLY BECAUSE there are so many more searches being performed in those markets... Yes I know Google offers the correct spelling as a suggestion but that doesn't stop people from getting it wrong and then simply clicking on what they want to see when they get the search results irrespective of whether someone has told them they can't spell :)
