More than 1,000 people of all ages walked or ran for breast cancer awareness at Mission Regional Medical Center on Oct. 9. The 12th Annual Mission Pink 5K Walk/Run for Breast Cancer Awareness raised funds for lifesaving mammograms for needy Valley women at the award-winning hospital in Mission. Some of those who walked or ran in the event said they were there to support loved ones, friends, or the cause of breast cancer awareness. Others participated to celebrate their personal victories over the disease – while still others continue the battle against breast cancer. Kane Dawson, CEO of Mission Regional Medical Center, thanked HEB, which served as Diamond Sponsor for the community event, as well as Walmart Neighborhood Market, Mission CISD and the City of Mission, which served as Sapphire Sponsors.
