RIO GRANDE VALLEY SHINES IN INCLUSIVITY

On October 26th, 2023, the Disability Chamber of Commerce - RGV hosted the Texas HireAbility Employer Forum & Lex Frieden Employment Awards in partnership with the Texas Governor’s Committee on People With Disabilities and the Texas Workforce Commission. The Lex Frieden Employment Awards are presented every October in different cities across Texas to coincide with National Disability Employment Awareness Month. The awards recognize businesses, organizations, and individuals who promote an inclusive and diverse work environment.

Over 250 people from different parts of Texas attended the event, which was also broadcast live statewide. We are grateful to all our sponsors and wish to congratulate all the winners, particularly those from the Rio Grande Valley, which include The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, VAIL Center for Independent Living, Christian’s Cookie House, and Dr. Lidia Fonseca.
