TRI-COUNTY ANIMAL RESCUE
Animal advocates Andrea Stark, Janna Bullock, Adrien Arpel, and Jean Shafiroff co-hosted a lunch for the Tri-County Animal Rescue, a nonprofit animal shelter working to prevent the killing of over 170,000 homeless pets in Broward, Palm Beach, and Miami-Dade counties every year. Sir Darius Brown, a 14-yearold who creates stylish bow ties to help pups look their best while looking for their forever homes, received the Young Leadership Award at Stark’s NYC penthouse. YM/WREA & REBUILDING TOGETHER
Rebuilding Together New York City, whose supporters include Chelsea Clinton, joined forces with the YM/WREA (Young Men’s/ Women’s Real Estate Association of New York) for their first in-person volunteer event since the pandemic. Thirty men and women helped to rehabilitate the Brooklyn Community Services O’Dwyer Gardens Community Center in Coney Island. Charles Saffati and his son Morris Saffati of Carlton Fine Arts are famous for selling work ranging from Andy Warhol and Basquiat to Chagall and Mr. Brainwash at their elegant three-floor Madison Avenue gallery. This spring they introduced Linjie Deng, an emerging Chinese Conceptual artist, to their varied roster. They are showing Deng’s critically acclaimed pieces created in response to both the pandemic and the recent attacks on the Asian community throughout the country.
