Stacie Francombe Stacie’s Story
Business Name: Get Married Media Experience: I started my career while at Ohio State University, working as an intern and then as a production assistant in the sports department of an NBC affiliate. After college (in 1997) I moved to Atlanta to join the then start-up CNN Sports Illustrated cable network as an editor and associate producer, and was promoted to a key producer for CNN International's global sports coverage. In 1998, I joined TBS as a writer-producer. In 1999 (while still at Turner) I founded Reel Creative, a full-service production house, specializing in onair commercial spots and professional videos. In January of 2006, I piloted the launch of Get Married Atlanta with my production company (Reel Creative) inside my studio apartment. It was the success of this local show and online concept that led to the creation of Get Married on a national scale. In just under two years, I transformed a local show produced by ten staff members to a national phenomenon (with over fifty employees in an 18,000 square foot studio) that includes a hit show on WEtv, a national bridal publication (Get Married magazine) and a robust website (www.getmarried.com).
