T I ME S T WO
Soda + Stitch was founded by self confessed textile lover, Jemma Bell, after a life-changing and rather spontaneous move to India. It was a move for love, after meeting a fellow Aussie, who is crazy enough to run a hot air balloon company in Jaipur, India! And after landing in the ‘Pink City’, the opportunity to design and create textiles in India’s bustling chaos was just too appealing! And so, surrounded by the smell, colour and liveliness of daily life, Soda + Stitch was born. Soda + Stitch has a serious passion (addiction may be a better word) for all things colourful, textured and playful. We also aim to nurture the handmade textile industry which is exactly why all our textiles are hand printed by seasoned masters in Jaipur, India. This exclusive collection for ‘Style Revolutionary’ continues Soda + Stitch’s exploration of hand printing techniques and aims to marry these age-old methods with something a little unexpected, a little fun and a little contemporary. It is full of hand-generated marks, surprising colour combos and a mix of cultural influences, but is pared-back and simple enough to be relevant to Aussie homes and spaces. This collection not only explores texture through print, but also explores the tactility of textiles available in India… From simple Cotton Drill to the Hand Woven Khadi Cotton - a fabric held in high esteem in India’s culture, since it’s rural history with Ghandi - that is full of an imperfect slubbiness that seems just right. check me out / khadi cotton (CMOKCW)
