1. An Introduction to the Scanner

When switching on the scanner, you will be presented with a menu: 1) 2) 3) 4)

Stock Received Relocate Stock Move to Pending Move From Pending

To access any of the functions, simply press the corresponding button on the keypad. The start of each function, you will be asked to scan your staff barcode (situated on the cover of this document). You will then be prompted what to scan, depending on what option you have selected. * Please ensure you always check the prompt before each scan * To cancel and / or return to the main menu at any point, press the “ESC” key, followed by the “F1” button, located at the bottom of the handset. When you have finished your batch of scanning, please ensure you press F1 to Finish the batch before uploading the data.

2. Scan Stock Received

This function is used when a delivery has been received and stock is added to shelves.

1.

Press 2 on the main menu to start the batch

Scan staff code on cover of this document

3.

Scan Product Barcode

4.

Scan New Shelf

5.

Repeat Steps 3 and 4 until batch is complete

6.

Press F1 to complete batch before uploading

7.

Plug scanner into computer (USB must be in the right hand side USB port)

8.

Click on the “sync” icon on the desktop to upload the data

(OR Press F1 to cancel – This will take you back to rescan the product again)

To Edit or browse last scans 1.

Press F2 on “Scan Product” screen (step 3 above)

The screen will show “Browse” at the top. Underneath will be the letters R and F with a number after each one. The R indicates the record number, and F indicates Field number.

To browse through records, use the ↑↓ buttons – You will see the R number changing. R1 will always be the name of the function – in this case “Stock Received” – This should never be deleted or edited. To browse through fields, use the ← → buttons – You will see the F number changing. a. b. c.

Field 1 is Barcode Field 2 is Shelf Field 3 is staff code (automatically added in every record)

To return the main menu, press “ESC” OR If you wish to edit any records, press “ENT”, the screen will say “Edit” at the top... Amend the information to what you required, then press “ENT” again. You will be prompted with “Modify Field?”. Press 1 for yes, or 0 to cancel. To return the main menu, press “ESC”

To delete last scans 1.

Press F3 on “Scan Product” screen (step 3 above)

The screen will show “Erase Last Scan” above the sub menu. Press 1 to confirm, or 0 to cancel

3. Moving Stock from one shelf to another

This function is used when moving stock items from one shelf direct to another 1.

Press 2 on the main menu to start the batch

Scan staff code on cover of this document

Scan Product Barcode

4.

Scan Current Shelf

(OR Press F1 to cancel – This will take you back to rescan the product again)

5.

Scan New Shelf

(OR Press F1 to cancel – This will take you back to rescan the product again)

6.

Repeat Steps 3,4 and 5 until batch is complete

7.

Press F1 to complete batch before uploading

8.

4. Moving Stock to Pending

This function is ONLY to be used when moving a large volume of stock. This will move all scanned items into a pending state. Anything moved to Pending must have a second batch move from pending (Section 5). 1.

Press 3 on the main menu to start the batch

Scan staff code on cover of this document

Scan Product Barcode

Scan Existing Shelf

5.

Repeat Steps 3 and 4 until batch is complete

6.

Press F1 to complete batch before uploading

7.

5. Moving Stock from Pending

This function is ONLY to be used when moving a large volume from a pending location. This will move all scanned items from pending state to a new location. IMPORTANT: All stock scanned in this batch MUST have been scanned and moved to pending first.

Scan New Shelf

6. Website Administration

Great Gear Store have provided a basic website administration area to provide PAPW with the ability to check stock on shelf locations and also look up products for cross-reference purposes. To access this go to the following URL: http://greatgearstore.com/siteAdmin/ Log in using: Username: Password:

papw kingshill

Form this screen you will see a list of all the shelf locations in your warehouse.  

Click on a link to see what stock is on that shelf. Click on a Product to get an image
