These past two years • I’ve grown as a person and an Illustrator. • I’ve applied myself a lot more and put more effort into my work. • Pushed myself outside my comfort zone • Gained a lot of stress weight... • Cried myself into dehydration.

What I’ve learned • Digital skills • That life still happens even when you have deadlines • Personal struggles tend to bleed into professional life • That it's ok to crumple down and cry in the bathroom, you will be judged! But you will also receive an awkward pat on the back. • Imposter syndrome is more common, and I'm not the only one who suffers from it. • Cop was hard but rewarding. • Don't compare yourself to others • That it’s ok to feel insecure about your art one minuet and love it the next.

Where my practice is now • Colourful, shape based and organic • Although characters are important to illustration, they are no longer my primary focus. • My practice did a 180 and went from watercolour drawings to digital. • It’s easier to work digital and it's quicker • I’ve developed a style that can be a mix of both. • I will never stop painting analogue, Its who I am. • My work belongs less in the animation industry and more in the publishing industry.

Promoting myself • I’ve got a website that’s solid • But I get all my interactions through Instagram • FB isn’t as good as I thought it would be. • The importance of blogging

Building connections • Contacting people is not my favourite thing to do • Interviews back home • Upcoming projects • Learn how to convince others of how great I am.

What’s next? • Iceland • Learn how to not take anything personally. • An open ticket to Malta • Work work work • Just be me.

I’m driven by the hope that I haven’t made my best work yet Making stuff is the heart of everything That drive never goes away What can I make next? Paula Scher
