Fairtrade Fortnight 2015 23rd February to 8th March Solihull Fairtrade invites you to support Fairtrade Fortnight! Many events need help! And this can take many forms – see below for the round up of events, and what is needed : ) Solihull Fairtrade Cake off at the Solihull Arts Complex – 7th March. SoFt in partnership with the Arts Complex Café are organising a cake competition. Entries must contain Fairtrade ingredients. Fairtrade Cake Sale So-FT will be organising a sale of Fairtrade homemade cakes at the Manor House, Solihull on Friday 7 March from 10:00am to 3:00pm. Fairtrade cakes must contain at least Fairtrade Sugar. Donations of Fairtrade and baking ingredients are welcomed.
Street Art in the High Street – using chalk, we will inviting children and adults to help us paint a huge Fairtrade logo (?) on the pavement. This will be organised by and there is the possibility of many other activities. Businesses can send team members to join in .
Solihull Fairtrade Fortnight Banners – So-FT will be putting up banners 10’ x 3’ in key locations to let people know that it is Fairtrade Fortnight 2015. Could you put a banner up? We need £200 to support the project, this would allow us to produce 4 banners (see example below) in this first year, which will be reused in subsequent years. We will be acknowledging all support in literature.

Fairtrade Art display – So-FT are asking local school children to support Fairtrade Fortnight by creating drawings, poems and essays. These will be displayed in central Solihull shopping area for the whole of Fairtrade Fortnight. Bromford Support will be organising Fairtrade Coffee mornings and art activities for their service users: they provide schemes for young families, people with learning disability, supported housing for older persons. Donations of ingredients and coffee morning stuff welcomed. Fairtrade Photo Survey- we’d like to visit and take some photos of what you do for Fairtrade Fortnight, from an event to just having Fairtrade products or using it in meetings. Want to get involved? This is in partnership with Solihull Photographic Society. Other potential partners…. Watch this space Lush Cosmetics are very keen to support.. they have many interesting and motivated staff with very creative skills and are looking for activities to get involved in. Three Trees Community Centre and Olive branch café – events to be confirmed

Soroptimist International will be holding a Fairtrade Pancake party on Tuesday evening February 17.There will be savoury and sweet pancake fillings but all fillings will contain Fairtrade products. This event is invite only Media and Marketing All events will be marketed in a Fairtrade Fortnight Newsletter, and emailed around SoFT and partners mailing list, and regular promotion using the Solihull twitter account* www.solihull.gov.uk/fairtrade will be the central website providing links to the news of events as published on www.issuu.com/solihullfairtrade Partner/supporter websites will be linked to a board on www.pinterest.com/solihullftrade Solihull Photographic Society –have offered support for the 3rd year. *Twitter - @solihullftrade has over 1000 followers and last year reached over 100,000 through retweets, including BBC West Midlands Facebook – updates will be posted here and on the Solihull Big Green Group site.
