ZX Spectrum production set to begin

Production is set to start on a remodelled version of the ZX Spectrum, which will come pre-installed with 1,000 classic game titles. Nottinghamshire firm SMS Electronics will manufacture the Sinclair Spectrum Vega at its Beeston factory. The machine, which has been developed by Luton-based Retro Computers, is due to go on sale in April.Sir Clive Sinclair, who launched the original ZX Spectrum computer in 1982, is backing the venture. Mark Goldby, managing director of SMS Electronics, said he was hoping for “big things” from the new machine. He said: “I am absolutely delighted our company has been involved in this project. “If it sells anywhere near as well as the original ZX Spectrum that could bring massive employment opportunities for us here. “If you are a diehard graphics fiend then you are probably not going to get too excited - but this is all about the games, which are extremely addictive. “We have a queue of technicians

waiting for a chance to test it.” Production is set to start in February. Dr David Levy, chairman of Retro Computers, said details of the 1,000 titles to come pre-installed on the machine were still being finalised. However, he promised they would include many of the best-selling games from the 1980s. The firm, which has Sir Clive as a shareholder, is also making arrangements with the owners of the software rights to Spectrum games to donate a combined software royalty to Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital. The first run of 1,000 machines has been financed by a crowdfunding campaign - which offered people the chance to have their names included on a roll of honour installed on them. The Spectrum Vega has been designed to run all 14,000 of the original games, developed during the years when some five million Sinclair ZX Spectrums were sold.

Singer preparing for space

British singer Sarah Brightman is expected to blast off in October for a 10-day stay on the International Space Station, NASA said on Thursday. The famed soprano, who starred in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Phantom of the Opera” will pay about $52 million for a round-trip ride aboard a Russian Soyuz capsule, said U.S.-based Space Adventures, a privately owned firm that is arranging the trip. Brightman, 54, will become the eighth tourist and first professional singer to visit the orbital outpost, a $100 billion research laboratory that flies about 260 miles (418 km) above Earth. One tourist, Microsoft co-founder Charles Simonyi, made two trips. Since NASA retired its space shuttles in 2011, Russian Soyuz capsules have been fully booked flying crew to and from the station, a project of 15 nations. The last tourist to fly was Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberte, who spent 11 days aboard the station in 2009, at a cost of about $35 million. A Soyuz seat for a paying passenger is available this fall because Russia needs to supply a fresh capsule to bring home two station crewmen who are planning to make unprecedented year-long stays in space. Soyuz are designed to stay in orbit for six months. Cosmonaut and incoming station crewmember Sergey Volkov will pilot the replacement Soyuz that will carry European Space Agency astronaut Andreas Mogensen and Brightman, NASA flight director Emily Nelson said

UFO spotted near Space Station

Repsol drops Canaries oil exploration Energy giant Repsol announced on Friday that it was terminating its oil and gas exploration in Canary Island waters, as reserves were found to be too small and of poor quality. “An analysis of samples obtained from the Sandía site survey confirmed the existence of gas – from methane to hexane – but lacking the volume and quality required to consider future extraction,” said the company in a press release. The firm said the deposits were saturated with water and only present in thin, non-exploitable layers. “No additional investigation will be conducted in the area, and the dynamic positioning vessel Rowan Renaissance will return to Angola to continue the hydrocarbon exploration program that Repsol is carrying out in that country,” the note added. Repsol began surveying waters off the

Canary Islands in November of last year. The project drew vocal opposition from the regional government, which feared the risk of an oil spill in an area that depends on tourism and fishing for its livelihood.

Footage has emerged purporting to show a UFO hovering near the International Space Station after astronauts evacuated part of the craft following an ammonia leak.

Eagle-eyed conspiracy theorists spotted a strange orb-shaped object disappear behind the ISS after the leak forced astronauts to briefly join their Russian counterparts in a separate module, strengthening beliefs that the Repsol had estimated a success rate of ISS is actually a hotbed of alien activity. 15 to 20 percent for surveys conducted Although it has not been established around 60 kilometers off Lanzarote, in whether the footage was taken from a section named Sandía. Paris gunman ‘was with five others in Madrid’ that Mohamed Belhoucine was already in

Syria where Hayat Boumeddiene joined him. Boumeddiene was seen arriving at an airport in Istanbul accompanied by his younger brother Mehdi.

Amedy Coulibaly, one of the three gunmen behind last week’s Paris attacks, drove five people to Madrid in early January to catch a plane to Turkey, a Spanish anti-terrorism source said Friday. Among the five was Mehdi Sabry Belhoucine and his brother Mohamed, who has already been convicted of terrorism related offences in France, as well as Coulibaly’s partner Hayat Boumeddiene, the source told AFP. “We think they travelled from Paris, going to MadridBarajas (airport), without stopping -- Coulibaly, Hayat, the Belhoucine brothers, and Mohamed Belhoucine’s wife and son.” The five people flew to Turkey on January 2nd with tickets bought over the Internet, the source added. Mohamed Belhoucine, a 27-year-old former engineering student, was arrested in May 2010 and sentenced to two years in prison for membership in a cell that sent jihadists to a Pakistan-Afghanistan border region. He left jail in June 20A French police source said earlier

Investigators have not found any trace of a hotel reservation for the group, the Spanish antiterrorism source said, confirming media reports. The authorities have been focusing on the lack of a hotel reservation, as it could be a sign that they stayed with a support cell in Spain with the capacity to act locally.

A Spanish high court judge, who specialises in terrorism cases, opened a preliminary investigation on Thursday into Coulibaly’s stay in Madrid. thelocal.es

Cruz Azul Visits Los Infiernos Perrera Cruz Azul Murcia is actively liaising with local animal charities to encourage a more cohesive approach to animal welfare in the Murcia region. As part of this initiative, Lyn Baines (President) and Sue Thomason (Vice President) met with volunteers from Los Infiernos Perrera Supporters (LIPS) who do everything that they can to ensure that the hundred or more dogs in their care are looked after and found good ‘forever homes’. LIPS takes in dogs from Torre Pacheco, Los Alcázares, San Javier, San Pedro del Pinatar and Pilar de la Horadada. LIPS need more volunteers to walk, groom and interact with the dogs. Interaction is vital because in some cases the dogs have been abused or subjected to terrible cruelty; they need to learn to trust. maybe for the first time in their lives. Others may

simply need to learn to walk on a lead to make it easier to have them accepted for adoption. LIPS volunteer, Karin Patrick, remarked “If we had more volunteers we could walk all of the dogs every day instead of just three times a week. It just isn’t enough, especially for the larger dogs.” Cruz Azul’s visit was to see the problem first hand and to discuss ways in which they could help. “Our remit is to encourage responsible pet ownership and to reduce the stray population in this region” commented Lyn. “We offer assistance to owners on low incomes whose pets need veterinary intervention. In return, we ask the owners to agree to have their pet sterilised, micro chipped and vaccinated. This will go considerably towards cutting down the number of dogs that end up on the streets or in dog pounds such as the one in Los Infiernos. We admire the work that LIPS is doing and will support them as much as we can.” In addition to dog walkers, LIPS needs volunteers not only to help them achieve the ultimate goal of finding forever homes for all the dogs in their care but also to help make them as comfortable and happy

as possible while they wait for their new

owners. LIPS urgently need someone who is computer-literate to manage their Facebook page and respond to enquiries. They also need more fundraisers to help them bring in money for the following: To expand their neutering project; they believe, and Cruz Azul agree, that is the key to the problem. If they could immediately neuter each dog that arrives at the pound, then it would be easier and cheaper to rehome them. They need huge amounts of general hard food, as well as specialist food for sick or pregnant dogs and for puppies and dogs with allergies. A bag of food costs approximately 11 Euros. Parvovirus injections for all the puppies they receive to protect them in the pound. A parvo injection costs 10 Euros. Enclosed isolation cages for puppies and for nursing mothers with their pups. LIPS often receives litters of very young puppies, abandoned alone. Roofs on all of the cages to protect the dogs from the rain and the sun. RIP Google Glass & other failed inventions

Google Glass is dead, at least in its current form. And so it enters a grand, tragic graveyard of well-meaning but badlyreceived inventions and technology — a place containing flying cars and bad games consoles. Many inventions promise to change the world, but some never get the chance. That might be because they’re bad — but it’s just as often that they come at the wrong time, or are a little confusing. Glass was probably the latter, and Google has said that it is likely to bring it back in some other form. Here are five of our favourite other inventions that were initially expected to change the world, but now mostly languish in obscurity. Smell-O-Vision Lots of failed inventions sound like they should work — adding smell to films is probably one of them. After colour and sound, smell probably seemed like the inevitable next step, just as after smartphones and smart watches putting technology in your glasses seemed obvious. But after making an appearance in the specially-made 1960 film Scent of Mystery, it never really caught on. The audience got distracted, it needed too much perfume and people found

it difficult to stop the scents mixing and becoming too much. As with Glass, people weren’t ready and the implementation wasn’t good enough to convince them. Smell-O-Vision has repeatedly attempted to mount a comeback, just as Google has suggested Glass might do. But they’ve mostly failed. Sinclair C5

Launched in 1985, the little Sinclair C5 electric bike was revealed with much talking of it being a revolutionary device and a sign of the future. But it was immediately mocked as a toy, and the people driving it thought stupid and dangerous. (Glass wearers got their own version of that mockery, getting called “glassholes”.) As such, it didn’t take off. But some have said that the car was ahead of its time, with one transport expert telling the BBC in July that: “The dangers of the C5 weren’t so much to do with its design as the roads and the attitudes

of the 1980s”.

Segway T h e S e g w a y has always struggled to be taken seriously — while it sells itself as the “leader in personal, g r e e n transportation”, it’s really more of a fun thing that you can drive around. Now it’s used mostly as a toy, and perhaps as a testament to keeping ambitions small. People are happy to try out gadgets for fun, less if they’re claiming to change your life. But given even in its statement announcing the closure of the Glass explorer programme Google continued to trumpet the technology’s use in the workplace, it looks like the glasses aren’t ready to stop asking to be taken seriously just yet. Nintendo Virtual Boy The Virtual Boy looked a bit like Google Glass, or the bigger Oculus Rift. It was an eyepiece that users could look into and play games with 3D graphics. Nintendo has admitted that the game was a “commercial failure” — but also said that it was an important one. Nintendo’s early experiments with 3D

have a healthy dog put to sleep. If you would like to support them financially, you can donate to their PayPal account: losinfiernosdogs@ hotmail.com and like their Facebook page: Los Infiernos Perrera Supporters. “Cruz Azul is happy to accept donations of food and money for LIPS at their donation centres in San Javier and San Pedro del Pinatar” said Sue Thomason. Cruz Azul centres are open from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm, Monday to Saturday every week. Cruz Azul Murcia is a registered charity (No. 11.720/1a) and exists to provide veterinary care for the sick and injured pets of people in need and to promote responsible pet ownership. If you need help, or you would like to volunteer or donate, please call 693 017 616 or visit their website: www.cruzazulmurcia.es helped make the portable and much more popular 3DS. The Virtual Boy stands to show that great things can come out of troubled ideas. That might be helpful consolation to Google Glass as it looks towards the future of the project. Mizar flying car Part of Google Glass’s appeal should have been that it looked like the future that science fiction promised us. So do flying cars — but the first attempts to do so went terribly. Advanced Vehicle Engineers made the Mizar by essentially attaching a Cessna plane to a Ford Pinto car. But the poor design plus bad construction meant that nobody wanted to get in it – though it did appear in The Man With The Golden Gun. The flying car shows that the future isn’t always an exciting place, and sometimes is a scary one. Wearables are undoubtedly the future — as Google said in its statement, since the project began “interest in wearables has exploded and today it’s one of the most exciting areas in technology” — but we might not be ready for them just yet. independent.co.uk

Eta kingpin arrested on trial over 1987 terror attack cathedral thief

Spanish police on Monday arrested a former head of the armed Basque separatist group ETA who was behind its deadliest attack, just weeks after his early release from jail angered victims. Officers detained Santiago Arrospide Sarasola, known as Santi Potros, in the town of Lasarte in the northern Basque Country, under a court order, the interior ministry said in a statement. Potros was arrested in France three months after a car bomb attack by Eta in June 1987 at a Barcelona supermarket in which 21 people were killed, the group’s deadliest attack. He was extradited to Spain in 2010 and sentenced to jail for the supermarket bombing as well as other Eta attacks. Judge Fernando Andreu of Spain’s High Court, who specializes is terrorism cases, on Friday ordered his arrest, accusing him of having taken part in another Eta attack in 1987 that killed one person and of involvement in an attempted murder in the previous year. Potros was not initially due to be released until 2030 but he was freed on December 4th after a court ruled that the 13 years he had spent in jail in France could be deducted from his sentence in Spain. Eta victims said they felt “humiliated” by the decision, based on European Union rules that require jail time served in other nations to be taken into account during sentencing. The principle has led to the release of other jailed ETA members in recent

weeks. The arrest of Potros comes after 10,000 people marched through the streets of San Sebastian in Spain’s Basque Country on Saturday to protest against the arrest of 16 people accused of belonging to ETA, including 12 lawyers, and to press for “peace” in the region. ETA — or Euskadi Ta Askatasuna, which means Basque Homeland and Freedom in Basque — in October 2011 declared a “definitive end to armed activity” but it has not formally disarmed nor disbanded as the Spanish and French governments demand. The Spanish government refuses to negotiate with ETA, which has been severely weakened in recent years by hundreds of arrests as well as a decline in political and social support in the Basque Country. ETA’s last deadly attack in Spain was a July 2009 car bomb that killed two policemen on the island of Majorca.

Will it be a great week for sterling? Friday saw another day of mixed results for sterling, with it hitting a fresh seven-year high seen against the euro, while falling to a new one-week low against the US dollar in the afternoon as US consumer sentiment surged to an 11-year high. With markets still largely risk-averse following Thursday’s developments from the Swiss National Bank, it will be interesting to see how sterling and other currencies react during the course of the week to news flow and data releases. UK data releases are focused in the second half of the week. On Wednesday we have the release of the latest Monetary Policy Committee meeting minutes. These are likely to reveal no change in voting patterns from the Committees members but the rhetoric will be very carefully scrutinized as to their views on the impact of lower inflation. On Wednesday we also have the data for Novembers Average Earnings and Unemployment released which are both expected to show an improvement on the previous month. Then on Friday the retail sales data is expected to show a decline of 0.6% for December when compared to the previous month and an overall growth rate of 3% for the year.

Euro under pressure The euro and the Eurozone are under pressure. Last week turned out to be one of the worst weeks in years for the euro, particularly against the US dollar as it hit 11year lows and against sterling as it 7-year lows. And this week is likely to increase the uncertainty and pressure given the various key events and releases that are happening. The situation worsened with downbeat Eurozone inflation data, causing further expectations that the European Central Bank (ECB) will announce additional stimulus measures in its upcoming policy statement on Thursday. It would seem now that the ECB is left with no choice but to implement quantitative easing on a large scale with the central bank expected to pump €500 billion to €1 trillion into the Eurozone economy. The only doubts that it will happen are due to Germanys extreme resistance to this programme and their unwillingness to underwrite the debts of the whole of the Eurozone. Additional key data releases are as follows. This Tuesday sees the release of ZEW business confidence from Germany, forecast to increase from last month’s figure of 10 to 15. The Eurozone will also make this month’s interest

The valuable tome was kept in a cathedral safe under somewhat lax security, according to Spanish daily El País; there was only one security guard deployed at any one time due to reasons of costs, church authorities said. The Codex was not the only surprise awaiting the investigators who searched the 60-year-old electrician’s home in mid 2012; they also discovered €1.7 million ($2 million) stashed away in the garage, along with $300,000 that they believe Fernández Castiñeiras had been stealing from the cathedral over the years. Investigators knew there was an additional €600,000 somewhere, according to El País, because Fernández Castiñeiras had kept detailed records of everything he had taken from the cathedral, circling the amount he had taken each year (2004, 2005 and 2006) in red. Fernández Castiñeiras, who worked at the cathedral for over 25 years, was in court on Monday accompanied by his wife and son, who are accused of money laundering and receiving stolen goods. Fernández Castiñeiras is suspected to have carried out his stealing spree because of a firmly held grudge against the cathedral, which had dismissed him after he falsified a work document. While the prosecution is asking for a 15 year sentence, the cathedral has demanded their former electrician should serve a 31 year sentence if found guilty.

rate announcement on Thursday; the rate is currently standing at 0.05%, but given the way that the Euro is heading we could be looking at another interest rate cut for the single currency. We also have a raft of Purchasing Managers Indices for the Eurozone and some of its member states on Thursday which, on the whole, are expected to be show most Eurozone economies growing which would be helpful. And then we have the first stage of the Greek election over next weekend which adds another level of uncertainty and instability to the euro. US Dollar still flying high The US dollar finished off last week in a positive manner, following on from the Swiss National Bank’s unexpected move to abolish its euro peg. This, coupled with some strong economic data from stateside, allowed the dollar to move to an overall 11-year high. While the inflation came in a little lower than forecast, the dollar managed to reverse the negativity from this, thanks to the Consumer Sentiment figure from the country. This came out significantly ahead of expectations, moving up to the highest level in 11 years. The dollar rose against most of its major partners on this news, with

any positive data increasing hopes of an interest rate rise. This week starts with no data from the US, with markets closed in observance of Martin Luther King Day. Tuesday is almost as quiet, with just some words from a member of the US Federal Reserve to interest investors. Wednesday sees the first major piece of data from the country, from the building permits figures, before Thursday’s regular showing from the labour market in the form of unemployment claims data. Friday then rounds off a particularly quiet week in likewise fashion, with just the two smaller releases of the flash manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) and the existing home sales data that are liable to impact the markets directly. The Canadian dollar had an awful finish to the week as it reached fresh lows against its US counterpart and dropped to five- year lows. Alarm signals will be ringing as to quite how strong the US dollar can become. Key inflation data is released at the end of the week. Charles Purdy, Director of Smart Currency Exchange

Recession Is Over - It’s 2015

That’s what the politicians said would happen 3 or 4 years ago. Yeah Right! However to be fair, we have noticed in the last few months a more positive atmosphere in the showroom and with our suppliers. We all seem to think things are on the upturn, all we need now is the media to stop all doom and gloom and let people start to live their lives normally again and stop all the fear factors and negative attitudes worrying where it is not needed and move forward. England is going mad with their on line shopping and January Sales spending money like no tomorrow and grabbing as many bargains as possible. Just because you are tempted with a good deal on furniture or any product is it a good buy? Say to yourself does it suit my home or the rest of the furniture that I have? Have you measured to see if it will fit? So often people buy things on the spur of the moment in a sale and live to regret it.

If you buy a dress, skirt or shoes etc in the sale and saved yourself money you think you have had a great buy, until you go to wear it and realize you have made a grave mistake. The trouble is you have told your husband what a great deal this number was to justify spending the money on something that you really did not need

at the time. I think we have all done it at sometime and landed up hiding it at the back wardrobe hoping to lose weight or a more suitable occasion to wear it or even better your husband will forget this grand

buy until you can send it to the charity shop or pass it on to a friend saying don’t you dare wear it when my husband is about. Now with furniture this is where the problem gets bigger. We all know a lady’s wardrobe is like the Doctor’s Tardis but there is no way you can hide a sofa, chair, bed or table in the back of the wardrobe and expect your husband not to notice. So enjoy your January Sales find your bargains but measure before you hit the

shops and really think about what you need before going, so you will not make the mistake of buying the wrong thing. If you are buying a new mattress measure the length and the width as not all bed frames here are the same as England’s standard sizes. If you are buying a new suite again measure length, area you have and depth. You may find that 2 x 2 Seater Sofas may suit you better than the usual 3 + 2 seater sofas. You may think I have said before about measuring but it is so important, it is a very basic thing to do as furniture in the showroom never looks as big until it arrives in your casa, then looks huge. It’s basic like you would not start to paint until you have covered up your furniture or floor and bought the paint. When buying your new sofas or mattresses please try before you buy to make sure you have the correct comfort that suits your body. Hope you find some lovely deals that suit your home, fits and matches the rest of your furniture and you enjoy the experience of having something new for your home. I wish you all a Very Happy New Year filled with laughter and good health. What’s involved in cyber war games?

There are good lessons to learn from failure - especially when it comes to testing your digital defences. Most large companies regularly subject themselves and their IT staff to exercises designed to expose their weaknesses. Indeed, some aspects of everyday business depend on them being able to show they are prepared for the day when the “bad guys” come knocking. Which is pretty much every day. Generally these exercises are what are known as “penetration tests”, and they are conducted by outside companies which know the many ways computer technology can be compromised or people can be tricked into handing over information that can be used to get at corporate networks. They are supposed to mimic the techniques of the attackers, and the idea is to expose failings that can then be fixed - and to demonstrate to staff how careful they need to be. Experts say that pretty much every firm undergoing penetration tests fails, but that is kind of the point of them. War games are a step up from these tests because staff inside a firm are taking a more active role. They know they are going to come under attack and have to show how they would respond to whatever is thrown at them. Penetration tests target computers and war games test the people. “In a war game you are testing peoples’ ability to deal with stress and pressure,” said Stephanie Daman, chief executive of the UK’s Cyber Security Challenge - a government and industry backed-competition that seeks people with the the skills needed to help the UK beat back cyber criminals, hacktivists and terrorists.

Waking shark The Cyber Security Challenge is about to embark on a series of war games for some of its entrants which will involve them working in teams to handle a variety of different attack scenarios. Previous simulations run by the challenge involved both high-profile publicly announced attacks by hacktivist groups through to much more low-key campaigns involving sophisticated malware and “social engineering” such as phishing. And it is not just companies that engage in these simulated cyber security exercises. In the UK the Bank of England ran its paper-based war game exercise

called “Waking Shark 2” that got bank staff reacting to a series of different problems such as ATM networks failing or phone systems breaking down, to see how response teams fared. Also, the Western military alliance Nato regularly runs war games for the various cyber defence units in the armed forces of its members.

Fictitious kidnapping In November 2014, Nato carried out one of the largest ever cyber war games in its history that involved almost 700 soldiers and civilians from 28 separate nations. Over the space of the three-day exercise a cadre of 100 cyber attackers in a Nato command centre in Estonia hit defending teams around Europe with a series of simulated attacks. These attacks ranged from boobytrapped apps sent to Android phones of defenders, compromises of computer equipment at firms supplying military materiel and the penetration of networks run by the armed forces. One attack involved the fictitious kidnapping of the family of a senior Nato official, who was then blackmailed into stealing large amounts of classified data that was handed over to the attackers. Major threat The best scenarios, said Ms Daman from the Cyber Security Challenge, were those that resembled real attacks that a company or other organisation might actually suffer. “You cannot prepare adequate protections against these threats unless you understand their true nature,” she said. “And to do that you have to be in the attack situation.” Sometimes war games simulate big attacks that seek to take a company down but others are more subtle and harder to spot. “Attacks take many forms,” said Ms Daman. “Sometimes something that seems very innocuous can build up into a major threat.” How the team handles it, or fails to handle it, is the important part. It’s only by going through the war game that security staff can build up the experience to deal with attacks that happen for real, said Ms Daman. “You are very much testing resilience and readiness,” said Ms Daman, adding that in a lot of the scenarios there is no right way to respond. Learning comes through trying and failing. She said: “You want to find out what works well, what works badly and what you can put in place to make it work better next time.” bbc.co.uk

WHERE’S THERE’S MUCK.....

In previous jottings, the on/off saga of cleaning up the Bay of Portman has been mentioned many times. During the late summer of 2014, Aria International were awarded the contract to reclaim the valuable, but toxic mix of metals, contained in the “Gunge” that blocks Portman Bay. In November, the clean up plan was again, dashed, with the announcement that it’s C.E.O., Alireza Roodsare, had (Allegedly) been charged with credit card fraud, so the company contact was mutually cancelled. Now, it would seem, the Port Authority of Cartagena, is toying with the idea to scoop up all the

waste in the bay, and use it as an infill in a new boating marina, in Portman. It is a mute point, that if the massive container and oil transfer complex, planned for Gorguel Bay, just around the corner, is given the green light, just how popular would the moorings be for visiting yacht owners.

While older homes offer a great deal of charm and character, they can also be filled with cracks and crannies that cause uncomfortable drafts. If you want to be able to enjoy a cozy winter inside your home, you’ll have to ensure that the heat stays inside with you. By draft-proofing your house, you’ll be more comfortable and save a bundle on energy costs. 1. Locate Your Drafts You can find the drafty areas in your home through the use of a lit candle. Light your candle and hold it near your doors and windows. If you see the flame or smoke move, you know you have a draft that needs to be sealed. Be careful holding the candle and keep the flame away from any flammable material near the windows and doors. 2. Seal Your Window and Door Frames Apply weatherstripping to your drafty window and door frames. Use a tape measure to determine the perimeter around your windows. Purchase enough weatherstripping to seal the area. Clean the surfaces and allow them to dry thoroughly. Use your scissors to cut the length of weatherstripping you need. Apply the weatherstripping by pulling off the adhesive backing and pressing the tape into place. 3. Cover Your Windows with Plastic Use your tape measure to determine the area of window space to cover with plastic, and then add an inch to the dimensions to ensure that you have enough film. Cut the plastic to the dimensions you need. Apply the double- sided tape to the casing around the window. Remove the paper from the top of the tape. Carefully press the plastic onto the casing at the top of the window, ensuring that it is properly secured. Pull the plastic down to the bottom casing and press it onto the tape there. Pull the plastic out to the casing sides and press it onto the tape. Turn your hairdryer to a low setting and blow the warm air over the plastic to shrink it into place. Use your scissors to remove any excess plastic from around the window. 4. Fill Cracks and Crevices Use your caulking to fill cracks and crevices. Position your filler into your caulking gun. Squeeze the caulking in an even amount between each window or door frame and the wall. Hold the gun at a 45 degree angle and apply a continuous line of the material, completely filling all of the cracks. If necessary, caulk around electrical outlets, light switches and baseboards. 5. Close Your Curtains Keep your curtains and blinds closed to keep the warm air inside your home. Open the coverings during the day to allow the sunshine to heat up the air in your rooms. Close the coverings at night to trap the air in your home and prevent it from escaping. 6. Lay Down Door pool sureste sl made with “Gunite” Snakes and Area Rugs Cover your floors with extra area rugs and runners. Lay door snakes in front of drafty doors. By laying down Al extra rugs and door snakes & SIZES l s s e h ap you can better insulate your floors and keep the warm air where it belongs. eg. 7. Caterpillars (Processional Pine Caterpillars)

Pine Caterpillars (Latin name thaumetopoea pityocampa) are probably one of the most unpleasant creatures you will find in Spain, certainly in areas where pine trees grow in abundance. They are found throughout the warmer regions of Southern Europe, the Near East and North Africa. As well as causing much damage to pine forests, they are a major danger to animals and, to a lesser degree, human beings. Do not touch them. Warn your children that they are not like the friendly English caterpillars. The very fine hairs on these creatures are poisonous and most dangerous. They can be seen living in silk cocoon style nests hanging in the pine trees to which they are most harmful, stripping them of their pine needles. When hungry, they leave their cocoon to seek another uninfested tree on which to feed. They travel nose to tail in a line, hence the name Processional. They are most noticeable from January to mid April and are at their most dangerous in mid/late February. The caterpillars are often seen in the evenings, walking in procession from tree to tree. If they drop onto you or your pet, don’t brush them off with your hands because the effect is most unpleasant, causing great irritation, rash and pain. Dogs, cats and people can suffer from shock. The hairs of the caterpillars are still virulent even when the creatures are dead. Do not hit them with sticks because hairs flying in the air are just as dangerous. Burn them, but be careful of floating hairs. If the caterpillars are in the tree cocoon state, first spray the nest with hair spray (to seal down the hairs), cover the cocoon and the affected part of the branch with a plastic bag, cut down the branch, place it on clear ground and burn it. If the caterpillars are on the ground marching, it is better first to spray them with lighter fuel and then set them alight. This reduces the risk of flying hairs. Take care to only do this where you cannot inadvertently start a forest fire because during the summer months the undergrowth and trees are very dry. If you live near pine trees, it is recommended that you keep Anti Histamine tablets handy as an early treatment. In particular, avoid ingesting the hairs. Dogs are most at risk by sniffing the ground where the caterpillars have marched. Take particular care with your eyes. If affected the result

9

is serious, causing pain and swelling similar to a bad case of conjunctivitis. Treatment: If a person or animal shows signs of shock, get them to a doctor, hospital or vet immediately. If you have children and are considering buying property, take the above details into consideration. Golfing. When these caterpillars march across golf courses, play ceases immediately because it is too hazardous to try to clear them away. Sourced by www.practicalspain.com

useful tips to help you care for your antique or modern glassware

Moving Heavy Objects The key to moving something heavy by yourself is to use more brain than brawn. First make sure the item - including any protruding parts - will fit through openings and around corners. Then give careful thought to how you can do the job with the least strain. Once you decide on a strategy, be patient; going slowly may take time, but it may also prevent injury. If necessary, find a wiling volunteer! Here are some tips: • In general, pushing is easier and more effective than pulling. • Make a big box lighter by removing all or some of its contents. • If you are throwing the object out, or if it is fairly easy to reassemble, take it apart carefully and move it piece by piece. • When pushing something across the floor, put old newspapers, a blanket or a piece of cardboard under it. You'll protect the floor and the object will slide more easily. • To move a large object, such as a refrigerator, get behind it, lean it towards you, and walk it slowly from side to side. • To carry a box on your back, wrap a strap around it: a belt, large towel or blanket will do. Or make a loop of strong rope. Put one length around the box and hook the other around one bottom corner so that it passes under the box. Put your hands in the free ends of the loop.

spray a little washing-up liquid on the floor first. • To move a bulky chair, turn it so you can put the seat on your head and then slowly stand upright with the back of the chair on your back. Balance the chair on your head. It is easiest to put the chair down with someone's help, but if you are alone, do it slowly and steadily, bending at the knees.

Stairs • To get an object down a flight of stairs, use two boards as a ramp; slowly slide the object down the boards as you back down between them. • Or lay the object on a quilt or heavy blanket; control the descent with your shoulder as you back down, lifting the leading edge of the 'skid' slightly with both hands.

Trolleys

Furniture

• To get a trolley under a heavy object by yourself, put the trolley against the wall, then walk or slide the object to it; the wall will keep the trolley from scooting away.

• To move a couch or anything else with legs, lay it on its back or side and slide it as much as you can.

• Improvise a trolley with a child's toy cart, a skateboard or roller skates. Or invest in a lowloading trolley.

• Take the drawers out of a desk or dresser.

• Or instead of a trolley, use lengths of piping or poles. Roll the object over them, and as those in the rear become free, move them to the front.

• Heavy kitchen appliances, such as fridge freezers, dishwashers and washing machines, will slide across a vinyl floor more easily if you

1. A void putting glassware into direct sunlight or near any other heat sources such as radiators. 2. Avoid slippage by using two hands when carrying delicate items. Remove lids and stoppers to be safe. 3. Avoid stains in vases by changing the water every two days and removing any flowers or leaves before they dry onto the vase. Keep in mind that any liquid will stain glassware if it remains over a period of time. 4. A void temperature extremes. Very cold or very hot water is too taxing on antique glassware. Sudden temperature changes can stress the glass. 5. Avoid the dishwasher; it is too harsh on fragile glassware. Fill a plastic bowl with warm soapy water in the sink to wash glassware. The plastic bowl protects the glassware from the hard stainless sink. 6. Wash items one at a time to avoid any in-water collisions. 7. U se a soft bristled brush made of nylon or plastic to wash glassware. 8. L ine the drying area with towels in case of any tumbles. 9. Gently dry glassware with lint-free cloths. 10. D uring storage, remove decanter stoppers and lids. If there is any dampness, the lid will trap it in and cause cloudiness.

Decorative wine stoppers work best when you plan to drink your open bottle within two days. They tend to be the most affordable, least effective way to preserve open wine. The stoppers with cork bottoms tend to break easily while the steel/rubberized stoppers have longer life. These stoppers work like replacement corks. They typically have some kind of rubberized area that gets a good seal with the neck of the bottle or cork with a decorative pull at the top to make it easy to remove from the bottle. Decorative stoppers minimally seal out the air in wine; however, they do allow some oxidation to continue. These types of stoppers can extend a wine’s life a day or two, and they come in such a wide array of styles you can find them for all occasions, from whimsical Christmas styles to sleek and colorful simple styles, to fun and quirky designs. A brief history of reflexology Whilst the art of reflexology dates back to Ancient Egypt, India and China, this therapy was not introduced to the West until Dr William Fitzgerald developed ‘Zone therapy’. He believed that reflex areas on the feet and hands were linked to other areas and organs of the body within the same zone. In the 1930’s, Eunice Ingham further developed this zone theory into what is known as reflexology. Nixie Nixie is a winner of an ‘Intel Make It Wearable’ award and it combines two of the hottest technology trends in the world right now – it’s a drone and it’s wearable. Controlled from a device on the owner’s wrist, this flying camera can take photos and videos for you then safely return. The number of uses is limited only by the imagination, and perhaps the skill, of the pilot. Drones have promised to revolutionise the world as we know it; in 2015, thanks to Nixie, this technology will become available, at least for the lucky few with the bank balance that can snap one up.

SOLTIMES JANUARY 2015

Hello and welcome to CanDu Computer Bytes. Today we are going to walk the stony path that is the future. The ‘What if’s’ and ‘Mayby’s’ of technology. Why stony path? For most of us old enough to remember ‘Tomorrow’s World’ we will also recall, sometimes with amused fondness the times when things went wrong. There-in lay the paradox that is predicting the future. When phones started to become ‘smart’ they also started the blur the lines between a computer and communications device! I, grudgingly, gave the ‘last rights’ to my beloved ‘motorola’ phone and took the plunge into the murky world of the smart phone. Mine wasn’t expensive but, even as I type this, I still haven’t found out everything that it is capable of! Yes, I have had a tablet that, blow-up on me, had the all singing Android system, Apps and dodads, so you might expect me to have tested an Android device to destruction. Well, yes I did, as has already been said. But as with all things computers, someone, somewhere, has / is writing the next latest and greatest app thingy that everyone must have. I can safely say that my phone (and every smart phone out there) does everything apart from make a decent cup of coffee! Every once in a while I like to stray off the safe and secure path that is offering advice about what program or computer to buy or not buy! So today, as suggested earlier, here is where the future / stony path bit starts. I introduced the story of my misadventures regarding android as a way of leading you to the idea that everything is getting smaller. Well, that isn’t actually true. Have you seen the size of some of these phones out there, nearly the same size as a small tablet! The product that is of interest today is a bracelet. Yep, you heard me right, I did say a bracelet. First and foremost it isn’t yet available! The designers are 84% short of the estimated funds needed

to complete the project which means they are 588,000€ short. The sales pitch is really good. The technology is already available in different forms and the product might even, in time, replace the wristwatch. Lets give it a name, something that you can look up on the internet, after all that is where I found the story! The product is called “Cicret” and can be found at “www. cicret.com”. They also have a YouTube page that lets you watch a working prototype (or some really good animation). Inside the bracelet are the components of a tablet or mobile phone. Except! There is no screen and there is also no keyboard! These have been replaced with your arm and sensing technology that will allow you to interact with your computer and screen without having a keyboard! The screen is a pico (really tiny) projector that projects the image of a desktop, similar to what you will see on a smart phone or tablet, directly onto your skin and the position detection technology can determine where your hand is in the 3 dimensions of space. It is able to tell what key you are typing or an icon that you wish to move just from these sensors. What will it retail at – no-one to date has a clue. When will it become available – I honestly couldn’t say. Will it be worth the money – probably not until several million have been sold and the price drops accordingly. You know that I’m at Jack’s bar in Albox every Friday afternoon to solve all your computer problems, but did you know that I only live in Partaloa – just 10 minutes from Jack’s and have an open surgery every day just like you favourite computer shop – just longer hours and quicker service!

The City has a beautiful old quarter with excellent restaurants, tapas bars, art galleries and museums. Stunning architecture abounds, topped by the Moorish Alcazaba towering above the city. The Paseo de Almeria is a broad tree lined boulevard; running from the port to Plaza Purchena; it’s filled with chain stores and boutiques. It’s the commercial hub of the city with some curious black news stand kiosks dotted along the way. Another world however lies hidden the surface and the kiosks have trap doors leading 3metres and deeper below ground. At Plaza Purchena for the grand sum of 2€ the intrepid can learn more. The entrance to El Refugio is a modern glass building with a suspended glass floor so the foundations of ancient Moorish walls can be seen. Here the story unfolds firstly via a short film,

Rajoy raises job creation forecast

LEGAL CORNER

WITH MICHAEL DAVIES , ABOGADO/SOLICITOR

If you wish us to print an article about a particular topic, e-mail info@daviessolicitors.com - www.daviessolicitors.com

Spain will have created around 1 million jobs in two years by the end of 2015, Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy said in an interview published on Sunday, more than initially predicted by the government, which is banking on a growing economic recovery. Efforts to combat Spain’s sky high unemployment rate - at 23.7 percent, the second-highest in Europe after Greece - will be a cornerstone of political campaigning this year as a general election approaches. The Spanish government had originally forecast about 800,000 more people would find work in 2014 and 2015. Rajoy maintained the economy would grow by 2 percent this year, as previously predicted, but said there would be 550,000 to 600,000 more people in work and paying in to social security in 2015. Official data from December showed there were 417,574 more workers paying into the social security system than a year earlier. “Therefore ... that’s close to a million more (people paying into the social security system) in these two years,” Rajoy said in an interview with news agency Efe, published by Spanish

media on Sunday. Spaniards are due to vote in a new government by year-end. Rajoy’s centre-right People’s Party (PP) had said it would end its term with an unemployment rate below 23 percent, the level it stood at when it came to power in late 2011. But this rate soared to as much as 27 percent in an ensuing financial crisis and another year and a half of recession, and even now is only dropping slowly. Although Spain has become one of the euro zone’s fastestgrowing economies this year, high unemployment has remained a major drag on the turnaround and has meant millions of families are yet to feel any relief. There were 4.45 million people registered as out of work in December, according to data from the Labour Ministry, although a survey from the National Statistics Institute INE put the number of jobless at 5.4 million for the third quarter of 2014. The latest INE job survey for the fourth quarter is due on Jan. 22. reuters.com

Less inheritance tax for non resident heirs starting 2015: Inheritance tax discrimination of non residents finally ended this Christmas: On the 3rd of September of 2014 the European Court of Justice sentenced Spain to pay a specific person back some of their inheritance tax on the basis that if they had been a resident in Spain they would have been allowed higher exemption rates. (In Spain each autonomous region has created extra exemptions for their residents, and as non residents can not take advantage of this they are discriminated (more or less depending on which autonomous region we compare their situation with.). Unfortunately the sentence itself did not change the SPANISH legislation and did not provide a system establishing who could claim money back or any way of non residents not having to pay their inheritance tax as usual. All it did was recommend that Spain adapt it’s legislation. In other words after the sentence of 3rd of September of 2014 non residents still had to pay as usual with the only difference that if they took the Spanish government to court after a few years they may obtain a similar sentence by the ECJ.

We wrote about this when the sentence was dictated and you can find it on www.daviessolicitors.com (on the blog) Spain in this case has acted quickly and has adapted it´s legislation. We have just got back from the Christmas Holiday to find a new norm signed during the holiday that creates new forms for non resident heirs that allow them to apply the deductions that they would have been entitled to if they had been a resident of the autonomous region of Spain with higher exemptions (1. as long as they consider that a. they are indeed being discriminated which is not always the case and 2. and that they invoke the autonomous region with the largest connection (mainly where the assets are situated which is easy when their is only one or they are all in the sam autonomous region). For further information about this and who is actually affected by the situation, please read our previous article which we printed back back in September of 2014 when the sentence was issued by the ECJ. We have copied that article on our blog which you can find by visiting our website. www.daviessolicitors.com

Looking to sell? We can sell your property for you. Properties needed in all areas

Moving into and setting up your new home is definitely one of the most exciting things – especially for those who never find enough outlets for their ideas and designs. Throughout history, people have gone from caves to huts to castles to blocks of flats – and nowadays, seems like you can find an example of just anything. Some people are forced to get creative because of some physical restrictions – like small or unusual space – while others do so just because. 1 Inspired by our ancient predecessors, who inhabited trees, this completely transparent “House NA” in Japan offers you a lot of day light, but not much privacy. 2 The Skateboard House allows you to skate on all the surfaces, both in and outdoors, and was planned to be built in Malibu 3 The worlds slimmest house in Poland. The Keret House, inserted between two existing buildings, measures only from 92 to 152 centimeters in width! 4 Stone house Portugal Although it looks like a massive rock, this house in Portugal actually has a door, a chimney and a window, and has become a huge tourist attraction 5 Giant Seashell house Mexico. Inspired by the work of Gaudi and Frank Lloyd Wright, a young family with two kids in Mexico City had a seashell-shaped house built for them. 6 This single storey house in Malibu was inspired by the Flintstones family from the classic 60’s cartoon. Caterpillars

(Processional Pine Caterpillars)

If affected the result is serious, causing pain and swelling similar to a bad case of conjunctivitis. Sourced by www.practicalspain.com

such as WWF Global have also been campaigning against the venture. Andalusia had hoped that Brussels would support the southern region in its arguments, but the EC said in a letter that the dispute was “exclusively national” and asked both sides to reach an agreement. The regional government said it was blocking Gas Natural from starting the project because of the “cumulative” consequences the storage facility would have on the Natura 2000 network of protected ecosystems throughout the European Union, of which the Doñana National Park forms part. The EC has not commented on the regional government’s arguments, saying that “it doesn’t find itself in a position” to judge whether the environmental studies conducted by Andalusia are sufficient enough to issue such a ruling. Brussels instead called on both sides “to work together” and follow European environmental regulations. But Brussels’ cool response may have only served to exacerbate the estrangement between both sides. The Andalusian government said it would “continue to insist” on the need for the Environment Ministry to re-evaluate the project and reconsider its initial opinion that the gas facility would “have no negative effect on such a symbolic site.” The region will continue to push the Environment Ministry to change

its mind over the impact. “The ministry has done its part. Now it is up to the regional government to hand out the final permits, including unified environmental authorization,” said a government spokesman in Madrid. Over the last two years, the ministry has reviewed and approved three environmental impact statements enabling work to begin. But the Andalusia administration is asking the ministry to revisit these statements and consider the “cumulative effects” at Doñana. “We are going to keep pushing the ministry until it addresses our petition,” said Carmen Lloret, the secretary general for integrated environmental management at the Andalusian government. For its part, Gas Natural said the cumulative impacts on atmosphere, geology, soil and water had already been evaluated during the petition process. The EC letter surfaced after Gas Natural filed an administrative lawsuit against the Andalusian government, demanding €358 million for blocking the permits. On Thursday international conservation group WWF asked the Andalusian government to remain firm despite the cold shoulder from Brussels. elpais.com

¡Buenos Días Alqueria!

Radio Alqueria is once more preparing to assault the airwaves. Jammed and forced to close down by an electronic countermeasures unit of the Spanish army two years ago, the station is now servicing its generator and polishing its lecher lines in readiness for its return. The station is to field a host of well known names including Pulsating Pedro the controversial DJ from Ollantaytambo, Peru. He is known for his rapid repartee and his ability to geld lamas with his teeth. Unfortunately after years of exposure to the beasts he has, by some strange mechanism acquired their aroma. He is universally avoided in the hot confines of the studio where he has been known to steam. Banned from the station is El Sacerdote del Semblante Lánguido, the Village priest. As an Existentialist his ministrations have the potential to cause mass depression on a scale greater than a wet Sunday in Bolton. To avoid any chance of lemming like behaviour the most cheerful person in Alqueria was given the task of presenting ‘Thought for Today’, unfortunately this is Loco Paco. The signing of Miguel Pez the well known meteorologist was a particular triumph for the Radio Station. However funding only ran to one analysis. So the same weather report is broadcast three times a day, seven days a week, Winter and Summer. No one seems to mind however. It does beg the question though, does anyone actually listen to Radio Alqueria? The first day of broadcasting started with a children’s programme. Everyone knew it was a children’s programme from the mass hysteria and screams. Some badly prepared, patronising fairy tale was dished up to the poor little souls. A survey later showed that the only person listening was Amalia Vega. She thought it was real and

reported the existence of a man eating, or rather little girl in red eating Eurasian Wolf to the Guardia Civil. Today in Parliament was a masterpiece and consisted of a badly recorded episode of the Goon Show. Most listeners thought Alquerian politics were coming along in leaps and bounds. Some even commented that they were now on a par with Westminster. Sport was dominated by Rodriquez and his Abyssinian Goat Shirling. This received many complaints as the process of ‘shirling’ was misinterpreted by many and led to Rodriquez having to sign a sex offenders register. The highlight of the day’s broadcasting was undoubtedly ‘Manuela On Toast’. It wasn’t as the womenfolk, producers and censors thought a culinary programme. It was thirty minutes of Manuela at her most bawdy and inventive. Many are waiting for the screen play while other hopefuls are emanding audience participation. The first day of transmission finished with Loco Paco’s ‘Thought for Today’, it as deeply disturbing!

Multiple Murders At Sea Two Men Charged

– Martin Shortland A combination of superstitions, physical violence and Voodoo imprisons the victims of human trafficking in sub-Saharan Africa. Small fortunes are charged to take people to the so called ‘promised land’ of mainland Europe. The stretch of coastline between Adra and Almeria is the most popular entry point and not many weeks go by when the evidence of another failed attempt is either washed up on the shoreline, or pulled from the sea. It’s not known how many people are successful in their attempts, the figure can only be guessed at, but the coast guard and police do know how many illegal immigrants are detained each year: last year the figure was almost 4,000. A further 380 bodies were either removed from the sea or from beaches in the bay of Almeria. The Sea of Alboran is probably the most widely used in the whole of the Mediterranean and the security services are on constant patrol to try and stem the tide of

The Domino Effect

this human cargo. The networks of criminal gangs who smuggle this sorry cargo of bewildered, hungry and frightened people into southern Spain are ruthless in what they do. The money is paid to them in the villages of the sub-Sahara, where poverty and sickness is rife. The journey to the Moroccan coast is long and arduous but nothing in comparison to the treacherous sea crossing most will suffer in their bid for a better life. As I’ve said, many don’t make it as the boats they travel in are often woefully inadequate for the 70 mile journey. Those that do survive are often apprehended soon after they land, but for many others the story is a less attractive one, especially for the young women. They are often targeted for use in the sex trade and spend years in virtual captivity in the miserable rooms of the brothels hidden amongst the vast ocean of greenhouses between Almeria and El Ejido. One such vessel was intercepted by the Guardia Civil in December,

The plan was to sit in the sunshine and enjoy a late breakfast of toast and marmalade with a cup of tea on the front porch. I had all the wherewithalls assembled; kettle filled and on, toaster filled and on, plates ready with appropriate cutlery, cups and marmalade pot to hand and the butter, sitting on one of my posher plates, was warming itself to spreading temperature. All was neatly assembled and ready to hand on the worktop in the ordered way that would have impressed any TV cookery pundit. I had command of the situation; the component parts of the breakfast would reach readiness with splitsecond timing to arrive on the porch perfectly prepared and piping hot. That was until the sugar initiated the Domino Effect. I needed to replenish the sugar jar so I reached in to the cupboard above the worktop and grabbed the sugar bag. It, however, had other ideas, and elongated itself in my grasp, going from short and squat to long and thin, thereby catching the top of the coffee jar. The coffee jar tipped forward, catching the teabag jar, and together they tumbled gracefully onto the butter plate, which bounced into the sugar jar before all four of them careened with balletic elegance on to the floor, where they shattered into a starburst of glass and breakfast ingredients. I observed the scene, and considered my options. I had enough coffee, sugar and butter to make a decent serving of buttercream with added teabags, but it would also contain a significant amount of broken glass, plus the kitchen floor is not really an

18 miles off the coast of Almeria, there were 29 Africans on board. When police began interviewing the detainees, they soon discovered that 50 people had originally been on board the vessel and that 21including 8 infants - had been lost at sea owing, apparently, to the bad weather. Further investigation uncovered a more sinister reason for the loss of life. Two Cameroonian youths who were amongst the survivors have now been arrested and charged with the murder of up to 15 people. Police say that there was indeed some bad weather and that a combination of fear, fatigue, despair and superstition culminated in a number of fights breaking out. A Nigerian ‘holy man’ started to pray for a change in the weather, but it continued to get worse and the two youths

At this moment The Dog That Is Not Ours trotted in, attracted by the sounds of droppage and the possibility of Food On The Floor. ‘Out!’ I hollered, already imagining her paws cut to shreds by the broken glass. ‘But’ she said, then realised that I meant it, and outed. As there was no point crying over spilt breakfast I called the marital state of the sugar’s parents into question and set to thoroughly cleaning up, though I know that I will be finding tiny shards of broken glass in most unexpected places for at least the next 6 months! Looking on the bright side; the toast didn’t burn, due to my reflex toaster-switching-off reaction, and the marmalade wasn’t involved in the fracas. Also I have learnt never to put the butter on a posh plate! We did eventually get our breakfast on the porch, after which I went to the Chinese to buy replacement plates and jars.

accused him of using evil chants and Voodoo. They beat him and threw him overboard along with a number of his Nigerian companions who tried to help. Over the next few days, other people were assaulted and robbed before being thrown overboard, including a number of mothers with children. The investigation is a complex one in which the truth of what really happened will probably never be known. The remaining survivors, from Nigeria, Cameroon and Guinea are being held in internment hostels awaiting repatriation, a process which could take some considerable time because of the complexities of international immigration laws.

Calvin Harris song breaches Ofcom rules

Radio station Kiss FM has been found in breach of broadcasting rules for playing an explicit song by superstar DJ Calvin Harris. Two listeners contacted Ofcom to complain about the song, Open Wide, which was featured on the Official Kiss Top 40 on 2 November 2014. The broadcasting watchdog said the “sexually suggestive” lyrics were “clearly unsuitable” at 17:45 GMT. It reprimanded the station for not listening to the song in advance. Open Wide features US rapper Big Sean, and is taken from Harris’s fourth album, Motion. The chorus features the lines: “I’m taking off her blouses / While she taking off my trousers,” and continues to describe a sexual liaison, employing several swear words. Kiss said it had been offered a “first play” of the track during its chart show, and built the programme around the song, which it had not yet heard. The station told Ofcom it had made it clear to the record label, Sony, that the song “was to feature on-air and received it in good faith”. However, it said the track which was delivered was “clearly not the expected ‘radio-friendly’ edit which is deeply regrettable”. The broadcaster added it “would normally broadcast an immediate apology” in the event of offensive content being broadcast. But as the chart show was prerecorded, Kiss had to “broadcast an

apology in the same show at the same time a week later”. As a result of the incident, it overhauled its procedures for checking the content of new songs, and disciplined the producer in charge of the chart show. However, Ofcom found the measures were not enough to excuse the broadcast. Describing Open Wide as containing “sexual references and the most offensive language”, it noted the song had been played at “a time when children were particularly likely to have Speaking on an American chat show, been listening”. Sir Patrick Stewart, 74, told host Larry The broadcasting watchdog also King: expressed concern that “in this case, the “It is going to be looking very much Licensee [Kiss FM] allowed a track that at the earlier lives of all our characters. had not been listened to by station staff And so I don’t think we’ll be making to be broadcast”. an appearance. Ingredients

Cranachan

• 2 tbsp medium oatmeal • 300g fresh British raspberries • a little caster sugar • 350ml double cream (we used Jersey double cream) • 2 tbsp heather honey • 2-3 tbsp whisky, to taste

Method 1. To toast the oatmeal, spread it out on a baking sheet and grill until it smells rich and nutty. It will not darken quickly, so use your sense of smell to tell you when it is nutty enough. Cool the oatmeal. 2. Make a raspberry purée by crushing half the fruit and sieving. Sweeten this to taste with a little caster sugar. Whisk the double cream until just set, and stir in the honey and whisky, trying not to over-whip the cream. Taste the mix and add more of either if you feel the need. 3. Stir in the oatmeal and whisk lightly until the mixture is just firm. Alternate layers of the cream with the remaining whole raspberries and purée in 4 serving dishes. Allow to chill slightly before eating. http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/

Business ideas for 2015: Pet sitting

Although pet sitting is not a new business opportunity by any stretch of the imagination, the amount that people are willing to spend on their pets, rising demand for premium pet products and services, and the complication of busy lives, lends weight to a swelling market for pet sitters. In August last year, Euromonitor published new statistics which showed 4% growth of the pet care market with reports that “pet owners are keen to get the best for their pets”. Pet sitting business opportunities While pet sitting won’t make you rich overnight, it’s a business opportunity that can provide a decent living wage and, as it’s home-based and can be operated both part-time and full-time, you can start up as a pet sitter quickly and inexpensively. The success rate of your pet sitting business will depend on the region you target; for instance the South West has the largest proportion of cat owners (23%) whilst London has the least (12%), and the North East has the largest population of dogs (36% of people in the North East own a dog), so you will need to take this into account when marketing yourself as a pet sitter. As demand varies in different areas, you should also look to tailor your pet sitting service to your market. If, say, you decided to target the capital’s pet owners then you may want to add dog, and potentially even

cat, walking to your offering given the density of flats and apartments and lack of garden space. In terms of pricing strategy, you’ll need to create rates based on the type of animal you’re going to sit, how many animals you’re going to look after, the times you’re offering pet care, and the specific requirements for each pet. You’ll also need to ensure you have all the necessary paperwork in place to get your pet sitting business off the ground such as pet insurance for animal care and custody and paperwork from the pet owner such as vet release forms. It’s best to draw up a service contract which can then be provided to each customer.References and testimonials will form the basis of your business so it goes without saying that great customer service is a must to generate the word-of-mouth marketing you will need. As a pet sitting business relies so heavily on the local community, you should also look to place ads in local vets, pet shops and local newspapers and it’s recommended that you create a website – even a basic web page – to help those in the locale find you. For those looking to minimise the risks of starting a pet sitting business there are a range of franchise opportunities available which allow you to offer your services to a specific territory for a fixed fee with the branding and support of an established brand such as Barking Mad and PetPals. http://startups.co.uk/

barking dog saves climber

A pet dog’s barks helped an injured climber after he fell 80 feet from the side of a disused quarry on Cleeve Common. A climber, a 26-year-old from Cheltenham, was airlifted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol after the fall. He remains in a serious condition. The dog walker was on Cleeve Common around 11am when he was thought to have attempted to scale the side of the disused quarry. The quarry, which is behind the washpool on the common, has been abandoned for years and the side measured about eight storeys, about 80 feet. A woman was out walking when she heard his dog yelping for help. She spotted him on the ground, barely conscious. A nearby nurse and doctor, who happened to be on the Common during that time, heard the shouts for help and made their way down the quarry to give him first aid. Duty ranger Peter Stevenson was also mending a fence nearby before rushing to his side. South West Ambulance Service sent a rapid response vehicle with a paramedic and an ambulance, before a helicopter arrived with a doctor. The victim was found to have fractured both wrists, his lower back and had a dislocated hip. His femur was also severely damaged. bb.co.uk

Porsche 911 to be turbo Porsche is in the process of transforming its sports car line-up, aiming to balance both the desire of its customers for ever more power and dynamism and the need to radically improve its cars CO2 emissions and fuel consumption. The first evidence of the new approach will come with the arrival at the Geneva motor show in March of the delayed 911 GT3 RS, a car originally scheduled to have made its global debut in the summer of last year. Porsche product boss Wolfgang Hatz confirmed not only that the car will be “far more extreme” than the previous GT3 RS but also that it will be the first 911 to be powered by a new generation of flat six engines. Hatz would not be drawn on the size or output of the engine but did move to quash speculation that it would be the first turbocharged GT3 911. It will be normally aspirated and is expected to produce around 500bhp, a number seen as sufficient to put clear air between it and the extant 468bhp GT3. So equipped and with what is believed to be a radical aerodynamics package, Porsche’s computer simulations indicate the GT3 RS will be capable of lapping the Nurburgring Nordschleife in comfortably less than 7min 20sec. The current GT3 has been timed at 7min 25sec. Hatz also confirmed that the engine’s installation in the GT3 RS is merely an “interim” step for the new powerplant, whose perhaps more important purpose, at least for the Porsche balance sheet, is to replace the existing flat six motor currently used in the 911, Cayman and Boxster. Most dramatically, Hatz confirmed that while the engine will be normally aspirated in the GT3 RS, it will be turbocharged in other 911s, not just for the Turbo models but across the board, ending 51 years of production for the normally aspirated standard 911. However, Hatz also confirmed that despite comments made by at least one of his predecessors, the new

turbocharged flat four engine Porsche has been known to be working on for some years will not find its way into the back of a 911. “A 911 has a flat six engine,” said Hatz, and left it at that. Instead, the new flat four will first appear in the Boxster early next year and should also feature in the Cayman. The engine is likely to displace around 2.0 litres but, claims Hatz, will be more than capable of delivering “proper Porsche performance”. But that is not the only news concerning Porsche’s entry-level models. Hatz confirmed that the much-scooped Cayman GT4 is indeed on its way and scheduled for a late summer or early autumn delivery, perhaps at the Frankfurt motor show in September. He also confirmed the development of the car had come under the direction of the Porsche Motorsport department, making it a full member of Porsche’s elite sports car squad, currently peopled by the GT3 and forthcoming GT3 RS. The car is therefore far from a simple replacement for the old Cayman R but will instead be substantially more sporting and feature not only a considerable drop in kerb weight but also a substantial rise in power. When asked if 400bhp was likely, Hatz replied: “Perhaps not that much, but in that area.” The current quickest Cayman, the GTS, has 335bhp.The improvement in power-to-weight ratio seems likely to lop at least 0.5sec off the GTS’s 4.9sec claimed sprint to 62mph and raise its top speed above 180mph. Film Review The Two Faces of January Director: Hossein Amini

“Truth is we’re joined at the this tragic story. hips. I get caught, I take you Chester Macfarland is played by Viggo down. You get caught, you Mortensen of Lord of the Rings fame. turn me in.” Remember Aragorn with the long hair? If you’re a fan of Hitchcock or Patricia Highsmith and love psychological thrillers, this film is for you. I’m sure you’re familiar with the Ripley books by Highsmith so you’ll find similar underlying themes with fraudsters, murders and of course, men on the run! For well-known screenwriter Hossein Amini, this was to prove a successful directorial debut joining the prolific ranks of Clement, Hitchcock and Minghella, reminding us of the thrill and tension, on the edge of your seat tension that is characteristic of this genre. Where Amini excels is in conveying subtle and unspoken tension particularly with the Alpha males sparring over Colette. The coldhearted stares and the grimaces will give you the creeps followed by the profanities and the scuffles. The title of the film alludes to the two faces of Janus, the Roman God, one face looking to the future, the other to the past. We are told about the mythical tale of Theseus and the minotaur from the two main characters who seem to be on a sight-seeing tour of the Acropolis in Athens, laying early foundations of a tragedy in the making. The third character is a tourist guide and he relishes the opportunity to tell some besotted female tourists about

knocking back the whisky he becomes a dangerous man. Colette assures Chester that her interest in Rydal is non-sexual, however no-one believes Mortensen has been described by her! Once you feel the chemistry between the two you’ll critic Odie Henderson as “dangerously sexy and morally dubious.” He is a 42 year old wealthy American financier who seems to have recently wedded wife number 2-another glamorous and beautiful blonde, 25 but relatively poor, played by Kirsten Dunst. (Interview with the Vampire, Spiderman 1 and 2.) Chester reads from a tourist guide, the mood seems happy and the couple are relaxed as they stroll around the Acropolis as if they didn’t have a care in the world. But looks can be deceptive, can’t they? Rydal Keener, a Greek speaking American, who majored in Economics from Yale played by hunky Oscar Isaac ( Guerilla, the t.v. series Law and Order and Body of Lies) is a tourist guide and a poet. He is interested in Chester because he reminds him of his late father although he is more interested in Colette as a sexual playmate. understand Rydal flirts with the young female what I mean. tourists, in particular Lauren van Buren Things come to a head when a who is meant to be related to the 8th President and then takes advantage of private detective finally catches up them by scamming them, something with Chester. “I thought you said no-one would that Chester seems aware of. Colette tells her husband that she follow us?” asks Colette, alarmed when likes Rydal and there are hints of her a strange man storms into their hotel promiscuity further afield. Chester is room whilst indulging in some horseinsanely jealous and once he starts play. We learn that Chester has been

pause for thought

As I write this we’re all still reeling from the terrible events in France, where a handful of extremists have caused such mayhem and wrought fear in the hearts of so many. For in our ‘free’ society, where travel is so easy and intrusive checks so minimal, who knows but what a similar cell may be hidden within our own community, already planning and preparing for action. And all, apparently in the name of God. How can anyone be so misguided? Using out of context extracts from the Qu’ran, a book filled with praise for a merciful and forgiving God, to support their evil and inhuman actions. Yet of course we Christians can’t afford to be complacent when we think of all the equally evil and inhuman actions that have, down the centuries been taken in the name of Christ, much even within our own lifetime in places like Bosnia and Northern Ireland! And this is the same Jesus who urged his followers to “love your enemies”, to “pray for those who treat you spitefully”, to “turn

the other cheek” and to “leave revenge to God alone”. How can anyone interpret such clear teaching as instructions to maim or kill? And how, in the light of Christ’s “My new commandment is that you must love each other” dare any of us feel hatred for another? For it is not God, but power-hungry people, steeped in pride, arrogance and self will, who deliberately mislead others into believing their evil acts are somehow on God’s behalf. They know and understand nothing of the loving, merciful and forgiving God who gave all to reach out to folk who’ve rejected him! But I wonder; are we any better? Do we really appreciate the statement made by St Paul, that “God demonstrates his love towards us in that whilst we were still opposing him, Christ died on our behalf, paying the penalty we deserve in full.” And dare we really claim to love our enemies – even the terrorists? That really takes some doing. mixed up with Canadian oil shares. “He sold them shares in an oil field that didn’t exist. Them and hundreds of other people.” So, pay-back time it is! “You reimburse my clients, I’ll go back home to my family and leave your lovely wife and you alone.” Fair enough. This is when we start to realise the truth about Chester MacFarland and why he is on the run and unable to return to the States with his young wife. Chester wants to cut a deal before a scuffle breaks out-the first of many. Rydal makes an appearance at an inopportune moment and unwittingly become an accomplice to a crime, jeopardising what is left of his shaky integrity and compromising his position completely. In Chester’s own words he refers to him as a “right criminal.” From then onwards we know that things can only get worse. Avoiding arrest is the name of the game. The backdrop of Athens, Crete and Istanbul, Turkey add to the charm of this thriller, a good script and firstclass acting. Does anyone survive or do they all go down? Find out.

Messi hat-trick keeps title race alive

Benzema heading to Liverpool? REAL MADRID plan on selling Karim Benzema to Liverpool to fund a move for Paris SaintGermain striker Edinson Cavani. Benzema has been linked with a move to Anfield in recent weeks as a replacement for failed summer signing Mario Balotelli. The Frenchman is reportedly keen on a move to the Premier League due to growing tensions between him and Real boss Carlo Ancelotti. According to the Spanish media, Madrid are prepared to sell Benzema next summer for around £40m. And the European champions

plan to reinvest the money to sign PSG hitman Cavani, who is also unsettled and looking for a new club. Parc des Princes tactician Laurent Blanc continues to play the Uruguayan out of position on the flanks, favouring Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the centre forward. Real will, however, need to compete with Arsenal for the 27year-old’s signature, with a fee of £50m believed to be enough for PSG to sell.

For this month’s meeting a group of 18 players visited the established course at Vistabella under the excellent society deal obtained from Costa Blanca Green Fee Services. For 2015 we have joined forces with the Lo Marabu GS who play their monthly ‘social game’ the same days as us so we both benefit from the cost economies of scale for booking a larger group than would otherwise be the case. The weather forecast was ‘spot on’ with clear blue skies but was chilly to start with but warmed up nicely and the course was presented in an excellent condition. The winning scores on the day were as follows: 1st – Dave Bensley– 34 points 2nd – Mike Probert – 32 points 3rd – Kevin Robinson – 31 points Nearest the pin winners: Par 3 No Winner Par 4 Ian Noad Par 5 Mike Probert Best Front 9 Kevin Robinson – 18 points Best Back 9 Tony Felsted – 19 points Dog of a Day – Ian Noad – 14 points We all returned to the Ship Hispaniola in La Mata for a hearty feed and refreshments prepared by Janet and her team with our thanks. Lionel Messi struck a stunning hat-trick to ensure Barcelona maintained the pressure on La Liga leaders Real Madrid with a 40 win away to Deportivo la Coruna to cut the gap at the top to one point, albeit after playing a game more. In a change from his muchcriticised rotation policy, Barca boss Luis Enrique named the same side that beat Atletico 3-1 at home last weekend and was rewarded with another bright display, illuminated by Messi’s class in front of goal. “Messi has been at an extraordinarily high level all season,” said Enrique, despite reports of a dressing room rift between the two in recent weeks. “He hasn’t dipped at any point. He has been world class.” Earlier, Cristiano Ronaldo rounded off a week where he was named World Player of the Year for the third time by scoring a brace as

Real struck thrice in the final half hour to beat Getafe 3-0. Real had to wait over an hour to make the breakthrough at the Alfonso Perez Coliseum before Ronaldo fired home from Karim Benzema’s wonderful assist to set them on the road to victory. “It is true at the start we didn’t play with a lot of intensity,” said Real boss Carlo Ancelotti. “At the start we played a bit slow, but I liked the performance because the team played with intelligence and much better in the second-half than the first.” Atletico Madrid, who dumped Real out the Copa del Rey in midweek, moved back to within four points of their city rivals into third, as goals from Mario Mandzukic and Raul Garcia handed them a 2-0 win over managerless Granada. tribune.com

Quesada Golf Society The Society played its first game of 2015 at Alenda. The course was in good condition and the weather was absolutely glorious for the middle of January with clear blue skies, brillint sunshine and only a very slight breeze. The turn-out was a bit low with 20 players contesting an individual Stableford competition. The winner with 32 points was the “Rochdale Cowboy” Peter Ogden who was over from England for a short break in the Spanish sunshine. In second place with 30 points was “Lord” Ian Fogerty, a private joke with fellow member “Sir” Terrence Smith, with 30 points. In 3rd place with 29 points was the very consistent lady golfer Sue Smith. The best guest was prospective member Eamonn “Moutain Goat” Phillips with a very creditable 30 points. He hits a good long ball but ocassionaly is a bit wayward and had to scale a few hillsides

to play his ball. The “Roy” for the most shots played went to the winners better half Pat Ogden. A cup of tea in bed in the morning for a few days for Peter Pat or will it be the reverse. There were 3 nearest the pins which were won by Peter Ogden, Brian Airey and Eamonn Phillips. After the game the players returned to the society base at the Quesada Country Club for the presentations, a drink or two and a tasty hot and cold buffet kindly provided by mine hosts David & Anita. The next society game is on Wednesday 28 January at Alicante and the next members meeting is at the Quesada Country Club on Tuesday 3 February at 10.30 am. Anyone in the Quesada area looking to join a very friendly golf society and play golf once a fortnight at a wide variety of courses at very reasonable cost, should contact the Membership Secretary Les Pancott on 966 716 723.

The team, Beth Altabas, Adam and Lucy Stewart, Zoe and Vicki Connolly, swam well and clocked up

some good times and made some good new friends with the regions swimmers. To continue in this positive trends the younger members of the club had a good day in their first competition of the year in the Municipal Pool ,San Vincente. Most of the team achieving new personal best times in their first timed Regional Control of the year. The team comprised of Yuriy Flyunt, Amy Connolly, Vilja Bilstad, Vicky Pigneur, Georgy and Konstantin Murskiy, Patrick Met,and Vitalio Veres all worked hard in the 100m freestyle, 100m butterfly, and 200m butterfly races. Furniture First Rojales Ten Pin Bowling League Tuesday Night Trios Diego Munoz taking the nights high Week Thirteen played 13th Jan Watching some of our league bowlers preparing themselves for the evening matches, it was obvious a good time had been had over the festive period, “Dave & Stewart - the porky kids” please note! Back to the bowling and it was business as usual for The Med Bistro & Bar El Raso. Although they didn’t have it all their own way against Caballo Negro, it was MBB who came out 8 – 0 winners. Pre Xmas in form team Crazy Pinz had hoped to continue their fine form but, Juan’s Warriors took the first two games, before CP woke up and sneaked a 4 – 4 draw, with Eero Lento rolling a fine 614 scratch series. Split Happens burst back to form with an impressive 8 – 0 demolition of RightMoveInsurance. Even with Jane & Stewart Hamill bowling 580+ handicap series each, RMI were no match for SH, who had Gary Walsh ‘in the grove’ with a great 580 scr series and Marion Haynes staring with a 617 h/c series. Lucky Strike and Belgas Torrevieja 2 fought out a close 4 – 4 draw, with only 8 pins seperating them on total finfall. The Dreamers came up against a rampant Splash team and, were blown away 8 – 0. With

series h/c with 673 and, the other two bowlers Antonio Berenguer and Juanjo Carral bowling 620+ series, it was no surprise to see Sp take the team h/c series on the evening with a fantastic 1938. “You forgot to give us our team talk”, was the comment from Los Lobos, as they found Mixers in no mood to give up any points. And so it proved, with Ms winning 8 – 0 led from the front by Bosse Soderstrom, bowling a 643 h/c series and, Inga-Lill Soderstrom bowling the ladies high scr game of 203 and h/c series of 607. Team Finland continued their superb form when they took on Los Bandidos. With Keijo Liikanen bowling three 200+ games for a 657 scr & 672 h/c series, Markku Maatta two 200+ games and a 622 scr & 661 h/c series and Kari Savolainen ably contributing a 600 h/c series, TF took the team scr honours on the night and, completed an 8 – 0 win, which keeps them in second place in the league. Next week is position round, where 1st plays 2nd, 3rd plays 4th etc, giving teams he chance to move closer or further away from those teams around them.

Today we visited one of the most challenging courses on the Costa Blanca, yes the one with water on 16 holes! La Serena. Our format for today´s game was a 2 ball better ball Stableford, this format helps to take away the pressure when you think that you`ve hit a good shot, but find that IT has found a watery grave. However, one team didn`t find it difficult at all, reining club Champion, Chris Oatley and “just back from a skiing holiday” James Hunter shot their way to the winning podium with the best score of the day (43 points) way back in second place with 38 points came the Austrian and Irish bandits Olga Haubner and Robbie Ray,3rd place needed to be decided on handicap, with several teams on 36 points, but our German member Hermes Woerdeman and David Qualey scrapped home on lowest handicap.

be hard to find with only one or two names on any of the N.T.P.`s. they were Hole 3 Chris Oatley, Hole 9 David Qualey, Hole 15 and 17 went to cuddly from Dudley, Alan Rickers. Needless to say our “2`s” pot remains intact so there will be a nice healthy pot to be won at Villamartin next week. This week, Thursday15th Jan 2015 was our second game of the new year, and not a good start to the year with a poor turn out due to players dropping out with various illnesses, I guess it is that time of year for it! However the hardened few did turn up at Alenda for a round of golf. I’m afraid I cannot comment on the conditions of the course or weather, as I was one of the sickly ones struck down with the dreaded lurgy. But I do have the results. prevented it from going 2-0 with a penalty save in the 20th minute. Despite being a man down and a goal behind, Levante threatened in the final third of the pitch. Following Víctor Camarasa’s headed effort from a free kick, Víctor Casadesús found himself in a nice position but struck his shot wide. While Mariño was the star of the first half, Przemysław Tytoń took centre stage after the break by saving a Rubén García penalty. Iván López tried to grab an equaliser with a long-range effort but Tytón was able to deal with it easily. This win moves Elche up to sixteenth with 17 points. Levante, with a point less, are second from bottom. lfp.es

This weeks competition was a Waltz, there was 21 players and we went out in teams of three, only one score to count on hole one, two on hole two and three on hole three, then it’s back to one score again. The day started cloudy and very chilly, but as the match progressed the weather warmed up and so did the golf, so much so that by the time one member reached the 7th he was so hot he managed a hole in one, well done to Dave Swann, shame about the next hole, he didn’t score, ah well! thats golf. There were some good scores in today but the top three all managed the same score. The results this week: Nearest the pin: Hole 5; Gordon Abba & hole 9; Ian Craig

MAZARRON FC 4 AD SUCINA 0

Mazarron’s fourth successive victory took them up into fourth position in the league and cemented their prospects of achieving a play-off position at the end of the season. Once again it was the league’s leading goalscorer, Tolo, who took most of the plaudits by scoring all four goals taking his total for the season to 19 from just 18 appearances. Mazarron took the lead in the first minute when a through ball by Manu allowed Tolo to run on and shoot past the Sucina keeper. However, the expected onslaught did not immediately materialise and Sucina had an appeal for a penalty turned down five minutes later. Both teams struggled to gain supremacy but Mazarron came more into the game after 25 minutes and shots from Tolo and Liders went close. The only other events of note in the first half were several free kicks from Mazarron which came to nothing. The second half started with Mazarron forcing the play and Diego hit the post before increasing their lead after 58 minutes when Tolo was fouled inside the penalty area. He took the spot kick himself and

blasted it into the roof of the net. Mazarron were now starting to play some good football with Manu and Tolo causing problems for the Sucina defence. After near misses from Tolo and Diego, Mazarron went 3-0 ahead after 62 minutes when Tolo again ran on to a through ball and fired past the Sucina keeper. Tolo was once again virtually unplayable and a few minutes later he was hauled back by a Sucina defender and the referee awarded another penalty to Mazarron. Tolo once again fired home the penalty kick to give him his fourth goal and he was substituted shortly afterwards to rapturous applause from the Mazarron supporters. Team: Conejo, Alfonso, Dani, Enrique, Lorca, Andreo (Stevens), Liders, Mateo, Manu, Diego (Juanillo), Tolo (Domingo) Man of the Match: Tolo Mazarron are at home again next week on Sunday 25th January, kick off 16.30 against second placed Beniajan CF. Admission is 4€ with juveniles free
