Final Project Proposal
I will be discussing the Women’s Rights Movement. Before this movement, and even for some time during the movement, women were viewed as the lesser gender.
Girls were taught to obey men and respect them. Girls learned how to clean, sew, cook, and care for the male’s needs,as well as raise children. Women were subject to honor their husbands and respect them in every way possible.
The man was the provider of the family, the woman was to clean the house, cook, bare and raise the children, sew, and other “womanly” chores. They were not viewed as equals inany way, nor was it “proper” for them to be in the work field of any kind (Fryer, n.d.).
