Federal Involvement“Civil Rights Movement in the United States is generally identified as May 17, 1954 when a unanimous decision from the U.S. Supreme Court… declared the practice of separate but equalas unconstitutional”(Estes, 2012).
This was obviously very beneficial to the Black Americans. Black Americans were finally able to be on an equal education level as White Americans.
This caused a lot of unrest and many White Americans were completely against this change in legislation. In the long run, this was the best thing that could happen for everyone!
