C12.S.6.1 BUSINESS LAW ASSIGNMENT 4_06
ASSIGNMENT 4
PART A:
1.Dr. John S. Pemberton, who invented Coca Cola in the late 1800’s, kept his formula a close secret. He only shared it with a small group of people. After the company was sold a couple times, the new owner, Ernest Woodruff had the formula written down on paper and placed in a vault in 1919 and it was kept there until 1925.
He then moved it to the Trust Company Bank (now called Sun Trust) where it remained until it was once again moved in 2011 to another vault at the World of Coca Cola in Atlanta, Georgia.
2.In 2007, two Coca Cola employees conspired to steal and trade Coca Cola secret formula to it’s rival, Pepsi-Co. Instead of accepting the offer, Pepsi-Co alerted Coca Cola and the employees were caught with a sting operation.
