Imagine you are a teacher for a preschool classroom. Create a schedule that begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. Your schedule should include all aspects from arrival of the studentto the departure. Be specific and detailed, similar to the schedules shown in Chapter 3.
Working in an early head start/head start program I have found that when you have a daily schedule and stick to it each day the children are comfortable and feel secure no matter how young they are.
When they feel this way they can concentrate on learning and playing with their friends.In our classroom we have a picture schedule. We take pictures of our children doing the activities like washing hands or doing an art project then we put the time under it and post it for the children to see.
