Delegation proves itself to be superior approach since it allows management to have the time for carrying out its primary functions that is, planning, organizing, directing, controlling and coordinating. Delegation has the potential for:
Freeing the leader’s time for new tasks and strategic activities.
Providing employees with opportunities to learn and develop.
Allowing employees to be involved in tasks.
Allows observation and evaluation of employees working on new tasks.
Increasing employee motivation and satisfaction. (p.258).There are seven guidelines to follow in order to delegate efficiently. They are:
1.Identify key opportunities for delegation. Not everything can be delegated. You have earned your position in the company because you have the skills and the experience to execute the work successfully.
