Heather,
1.What would be an appropriate treatment option for a 32 yo female with stage 3 endometriosis?
It would depend if the patient is wanting children or not. If the patient is wanting children and has no other infertility problems than it is suggested that performing surgery in order to excise the endometriotic cyst would be advisable in
order to restore the chance of a spontaneous conception within a three-year time frame after the surgery (Vercellini, Vigano, Somigliana, & Fedele, 2014).
With the patient having a stage three classification it is a moderate to severe caseand surgical treatment would be required in order to help with the temporary relief of the pain and the restoration of a possible spontaneous conception at a 50% expectancy rate (Vercellini et al., 2014).
