1.Define “fiduciary duty” and describe how it should influence choices an employee makes with respect to their employer. Evaluate how this should influence Sandi Lane’s actions.
A fiduciary duty is a responsibility to commit to acting in the best interest of a beneficiary (Barone, 2020). Lane’s fiduciary duty was to “protect the Club’s assets even if the owners did not care” about it (Conn & Guess, 2016).
In other words, Lane’s job is crucial to the existence of the club as it is her duty of supervising the club’s assets for someone else and making the right choices. Which tells me that any action that Lane takes, will be in the interest of the club.
2.Describe the work environment and other factors that contributed to Lane being threatened with the loss of her job and why that poses an ethical dilemma for her.
