The consolidation of the military health system into to one health system commanded by the Defense Health Agency (DHA) is the largest merger I have been a part of.
Before this initiative took place Soldiers and staff in the facility received numerous briefs on this. One of the major points in these briefs that caught my attention was the elimination of Army Dental Command andArmy Veterinary Command.
Generally speaking, these commands would no longer exist under the new DHA format. Administrative representatives would exist and a General Officer and all that comes with the General would not exist.This definitely made sense to me as an enlisted guy in the clinic engaged in patient care and direct management.
