Aesthetic Expressions Beethoven’s Symphony: Eroica 11/8/11
1.The first eight or so seconds are aggressive in nature, not harmful but as though the “tragedy” is beginning to unfold and be revealed and its very shortly and quietly rests into silence before continuing.
2.The next few moments are like quiet tentative steps of a curious creature out intothe beginning sound of the piece. This then grows and shrinks rapidly as though this creature of the music switches between light steps and bold confident movements.
3.Starting at counter 1:48 the Oboe enters with its variation and the feel become one of joyful freedom while remaining playful and almost childlike. Then from counter 2:03 through until 2:20 the oboe reenters and builds ups up until at the end of 2:20 the music again eases off.
