Marriage equality: America’s Next Battle
The day was here at last. I wake up early with the pull of excitement ripping me out of bed like a child on the morning of a big holiday. Sure I am tired and hungry and there is still so much to be done but I just cannot wait to get my hair and make- up done and get into my dress it took us hours to pick out.
I had helped plan most of this and I have been watching the countdownsince it was 100 days away. My big sister was going to marry someone that my family and I loved and adored and the man who she would spend the rest of her life with.
Everything that you might imagine going wrong with a wedding did go wrong: the guest list itself was a huge struggle, the jeweler lost the groom’s ring, the invitations were the wrong color even after the second try and so they ended up going out late…you get the picture.
