Eyewitness testimony has been found to be inaccurate in one third of some 239 cases in which 73 percent were overturned due to DNA evidence that proved the individual innocent following a guilty conviction that mainly rested on eyewitness testimony, according to a report prepared by the Innocent Project (Arkowitz, and Lilienfield, 2010).
