Money Wall 11. Gift design
Our task was to design a souvenir that fit into the Areaware company’s webshop, according to their design philosophy. My goal was to create an object that on a certain level is also a flick of the world. The object I designed became a sleeve that shapes the 11th building on Wall street, symbolizing that brokers working on the stock market are playing with people’s hard-earned money. The bushing consists of two elements and is 3D printed, which is fixed by four magnets in their tightly assembled state.

Fotstöd lobby stool
Our task was to get to know Ikea’s design philosophy, after that we had to design and make a home supplement in their spirit. My goal was to create a dressing chair in the hall or bedroom, which helps to put on the shoes thanks to the design of the legs, and the width of the backrest part, similar to the hanger, can also serve as a momentary place for jackets and shirts during dressing. The finished furniture consists of maple bars and a plywood element, which are fastened to each other by 8 screws, the assembly does not take more than 2 minutes. It is also outstanding in terms of manufacturability, pricing and sheet mountability.

FOTSTÖD
Miami floor lamp
Our task was to select a stereotype and create a piece of furniture around it. The stereotype I chose was the American ’80s, and within that, the atmosphere, color and form of Miami Vice captivated me. I was reminded of the flamingo in Miami, which thus served as the starting motif for my lamp. The lamp is made up of chrome-plated and matt black painted elements, which are the surface treatments characteristic of the given stereotype. The design of the sole symbolizes the waves generated by a wading bird in the water, which is further reinforced by chromium plating. The legs and neck can remind us of the proportions of the flamingo, and the shape of the lampshade can remind us of the beak. The luminaire can be rotated almost completely along its two axes, so that several lighting images can be achieved, in addition, the color of its light can be changed and even the purple color of the eighties can be magnified in our apartment.

Bone chair chair rehabilitation
This is a 4 week long projects result on furniture design classes. Our task was to create an experimental chair using our university’s old library chairs. These chairs were from Italian furniture design studio Calligaris, and they were in the trash with half foot because of their age and their conditions. I wanted to make something clear, modern and traditional with some Japanese effect. You can easily catch the backrest parts that looks like the gates in Japanese culture moreover the whole chair has a finnish furniture looking. After we were ready with the chairs we had a one week long technical drawing in the size of 1:1. Our task was to show our chairs details with any kind of drawing tools, but it had to be realistic. It was a rush but I learned a lot from it.

Lyra lighting
Our task was to create a luminaire to be placed in a hall or lobby. During the course week led by BeLight, we had the opportunity to talk to professionals about the topic raised. The luminaire, designed with my teammates, consists of 4 elements, two of which have a reflective surface and two of which have a light source, thus creating indirect light for those who spend time underneath. In addition, its outer surface is covered with an acoustic textile, thus reducing noise in the given space. The question of scalability also appears in our plan, by changing the number and position of the elements it can be placed in several spaces with different floor areas and ceilings.

Alubon chair small series chair
At this university project our task was to design and create a small series chair under 2 months. We got semi-finished moulded plywood chair shells from Plydesign Ltd. what we had to work with. It was the base point of our chairs and we could not modify it too much. I started my project with checking the 60’s and 70’s lounge chairs, because I wanted to make something old-school looking. My target group was my grandmother’s age because they used to do “lounge” with coffee and cookies. Even so I wanted to make a modern looking, stable and inviting easy chair to the modern houses. That is why the chair looks like a bit old, but with the bent aluminium legs and with the black modern EPDM material it looks so up-to-date product.

Touch floor lamp
Our task during the course week was to create an object based on one of the concepts of lightness and heaviness. The course was led by French designer Rémi Bouhaniche. My teammate and I designed a floor lamp based on lightness, so the choice of materials followed this direction. The luminaire is perfectly balanced, so the user can adjust its position with a light touch, which can be completely rotated. To emphasize the human touch, it was named Touch.

Butterfly table coffee table
Our task wask to design a furniture with a horizontal surface above the floor plane, serving a human activity. The table I designed represents a modern and improved version of the rounded triangle-shaped tables that were widespread in the 60’s. I designed this table for lounge or coffee table because I wanted to take this function back to the homes which were forgotten for decades. My table is made up of two different heights of petal-shaped plywood which can be rotated along an axis placed at half the length of the longest side, by its overhanging table leg, at nearly 330 degrees.

IOIO
active seating workstation diploma project
With my masterwork, I create a work base in the living space that provides a solution in the form of a furniture family in terms of both the ergonomic and health (physical and mental) aspects of computer activities. Attention is not focused on body position during work, it resulting posture “C”. Different personalities, different sitting positions are considered comfortable, multiple changes of position and incorrect posture can lead to serious spinal problems over time. The active seat provides a solution to this by releasing the doubly broken, right-angled seating position, increasing the angle between the spine and thighs and creating a resting standing-like posture while working. In addition, the seating surface itself does not have static support, so the user is constantly in motion, which has a positive effect not only on blood circulation but also on our posture and work-morale. The realization of individual preferences is supported by the free variability of different sizes and modules.
