In ‘98, a small group of renegade Freeride mountain bikers, were making their mark in the damp forested slopes of Vancouver’s Nore Shore. They were interacting with nature in a most extreme way; riding steep, technical, natural lines and wielding chainsaws to carve stunts into the terrain. They were reappropriating the natural world with Ewok-like bridges much like skateboarders were doing in the urban environment. Before long the spotlight of history was shone on them and the North Shore became a globally iconic location. Firmly planted in his freeride roots, Dave Watson founder of Sombrio, famous for jumping the Tour de France peleton on his bike, believes the basic bicycle is the catalyst to a better world. A bike can take you anywhere and Sombrio is building clothing for the ride. We are creators of innovative elements to live and breath the two wheel culture. Sombrio inspires the world to ride bikes.

OUR TECHNOLOGY FS COMPOUND FLYERSOL Sombrio FS performance rubber technology is the result of research, design and testing of a proprietary molecular rubber compound for the bicycle action sports arena. From this was born an innovative high friction rubber application that is both malleable and conforming to the pins of a rider’s platforms unlike any other. We humbly believe footwear with FS durometers are the future.
DURA4RM Heel and arch support is provided by molded perforated polyurethane insoles. These Dura4rm custom shaped insoles provide entire foot impact resistance, optimal fit and maximum response. These inserts are additionally antimicrobial, breathable and feather weight.
AERIOLE Custom molded and die cut Aeriole EVA foam midsoles provide comfort and light weight cushioning.
LOGO LUG Our outsole tread pattern features a positive cast Logo lug design that hooks pins, features no catch points, and guarantees a consistent grade toe to heel — for an uncompromised response.
