Local Man Arrested for Arson CALVERT COUNTY, MD (April 2, 2013) – On April 2, 2013 around 10:07 pm, investigators from the Office of the State Fire Marshal, Calvert County Sheriff's Office and Maryland State Police were called to investigate a fire at 4500 Chesapeake Avenue in Chesapeake Beach, Calvert County. Investigators arrived to find burned women's personal clothing which had been intentionally set on fire inside of a one story single family dwelling. While on scene, Mark Sieck (24) was identified as the suspect. The residence was owned by Mr. Steve Sieck, and the personal property belonged to his wife. The residence was occupied at the time of the fire. The fire, which damaged the property and residence, did not require a fire department response. Damages were estimated around $2000. Sieck was taken to the Calvert County Detention Center and charged with Arson, First Degree and Malicious Burning of Personal Property under $500. ### The Office of the State Fire Marshal is an agency of the Department of State Police dedicated to helping protect citizens from fire and explosion through a comprehensive program of education, inspection, investigation and fire protection engineering.
