DISCOVERED BY: Home Owner NATURE OF SERVICE REQUEST: Improvised Explosive Device (chemical reaction device) ACTION TAKEN / RESOLUTION: Recovery and ongoing criminal investigation ASSISTING AGENCIES: ATF FBI MSP OTHER Charles County Sheriff's Office ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The home owner discovered components of a chemical reaction improvised explosive device ("soda bottle bomb") on their front doorstep and in their front yard. The Charles County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene and requested the State Fire Marshal's Office for a post blast investigation. Upon examination of the evidence, it was determined that someone intentionally manufactured the devices and intentionally threw them at and in the victim's property.
