VERBAL ARGUMENT ENDS WITH ARSON ARREST CHARLES COUNTY, MD – On October 20, 2013, the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Charles County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation into an incendiary fire in the Bannister neighborhood. The fire occurred around 7:00 p.m. at 1752 Brightwell Court in Waldorf, and caused damage to a two story, townhouse dwelling. The fire was determined to have been intentionally set with the use of an ignitable liquid. The Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department and surrounding departments were dispatched for a reported house fire, with a subject intentionally setting the fire. Responding units arrived and extinguished the fire within five minutes. The Charles County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene and detained Timothy Henson (52). Henson resides at the residence with his girlfriend and her family. He had a verbal argument with his girlfriend earlier in the evening and set the fire in spite of her. The residence is owned by Kundhi Durghi. The fire caused approximately $5,000 in damages to the dwelling. The occupants are being assisted by family and friends due to the damage caused by the fire. Henson was taken into custody and charged with Arson 1st Degree, Malicious Burning, 1st Degree, Reckless Endangerment and Malicious Destruction of Property over $500. He was transported to the Charles County Detention Center, and is being held on a $50,000 bail.
