URSULA SHERREE WOLFMAN

My name is Ursula Sherree Wolfman, and I'm a 30 year old Photographer. I've lived in St. Mary's County, Maryland since birth. Closeness to the Chesapeake, never being far from a stream or river² these are natural to me. Water, and the local flora and fauna that survive and flourish in its presence, are subjects I am always drawn to. I picked up a film camera and photography became a loved hobby while still a teenager. Working with art for over 8 years while doing custom framing helped me to develop a strong sense of color and balance. I enjoyed seeing a wide range of art come in daily. I began to understand why I loved or disliked the art that came through the shop.

My rekindling of the photography bug led to purchasing a good DSLR. I'd had compacts, but a larger camera sensor and having control of many functions meant dim lights or fast motion didn't have to mean a ruined shot! After discovering the joys of a DSLR, my pastime became a passion and I started capturing the beauty of my area with vigor. Sunsets and sunrises are a short timespan containing many colors and potentially beautiful compositions of clouds and light. I enjoy venturing into portrait and concert photography and both are exciting- Yet a bird, squirrel or a flower can be unbelievably interesting through my lens. Rays of light coming through leaves or a mushroom growing on a tree trunk can seem so powerful that I am awestruck.

The wonder I feel drives a desire for impact on my fellow man's habit to keep walking and not notice the beauty so close by, whether tiny on the ground or filling up the whole sky... The beauty is not indefinite, and those who see it will be more conscious of preserving it. Water gives life and our earth is a balance that will fall if the water cannot be clean. Please support and be active however you can to preserve our water and our planet.
