About this year’s logo The Artsfest ’14 design was created by Jessalyn Walters, a talented graphic artist and member of the exhibits staff at Annmarie. Her colorful design celebrates how she sees art everywhere! Art can be found in a multitude of environments, from the grandest museum to the smallest café, from street graffiti to a child’s classroom doodle, from the studied lens of a photographer to the snap of an Instagram. The notion that art can be elaborate or simple, studied or spontaneous, masterful or novice, sparked the idea that the simplicity of a colorful splotch of paint is, at its core, what art is all about. We are all artists. Art is everywhere!
Guests can purchase a T-shirt featuring Jessalyn’s paint splotch design at the T-Shirt Sales Booth!

Artist Booth Highlights 165 Artist Booths — selling unique & affordable art — inside and outside! Jewelry • Ceramics • Painting • Wood • Glass • Sculpture • Metal • Fiber • Photography • Watercolor & More!
William Phillips
Michael Greenwald Artsfest ’14 will feature 165 artists booths located around the Tent Circle, along the Wooded Path and in the Murray Arts Building. There will be something for everyone’s taste and budget, with artist booths offering jewelry, ceramics, paintings, photographs, fiber, glass, wood, metal, and more — created by artists both local and from across the country. Welcome to our new Artsfest ’14 artists — Among the many new Artsfest ’14 artists are Sunisa Yorgason from Manassas, Va., and William Phillips from Middletown, Md. Yorgason combines her two passions as a member of the Northern Virginia Handcrafter’s Guild and the American Orchid Society. She sculpts and hand-paints flowers and floral arrangements from a specialty clay. The majority of her arrangements are orchids — in all their variety and beauty. Guests will find Yorgason in the Murray Arts Building.
Sunisa Yorgason For the past five years, William Phillips has become passionate about hand-sculpted clay work depicting the famous Maryland Blue Crab. He portrays his one-of-a-kind blue crab art on various settings and bases using the tag line “Kool Krabs by William.” Guests will find Phillips at Wooded Path spot #58. Welcome back — we are pleased to welcome back many of our guest’s favorite artists, including Michael Greenwald. His work is driven by his passion for vintage watches. He likes to preserve the original craftsmanship of the inner gears and jewels while creating “Rewound Jewelry.” Greenwald enjoys taking 80- to 150-year-old time pieces and turn them into cufflinks, rings, pendants and more distinctive heirlooms. Visit Greenwald at spot 46 in the Tent Circle. Visitors will find these, and more than 160 other artists, at Artsfest ’14!
165 artist booths will be set up in the Tent Circle, along the Wooded Path, and in the Murray Arts Building during Artsfest ’14. Guests can browse the booths, purchase art and perhaps even catch an artist demonstrating their craft! The following awards will be presented at Artsfest ’14: • Arts Council of Calvert County Best of Show Award — Awarded to the best visual artist. • PNC Bank Artsfest Spirit Award — This award recognizes the visual artist who most effectively shares with guests, their enthusiasm and love of their craft. • College of Southern Maryland Best Demonstration Award — Awarded to the best demonstrating visual artist. • Katie and Tom Watts Best New Artist Award — Awarded to the best new Artsfest ’14 visual artist (only first year artists are eligible) • Rotary Club of Prince Frederick Performing Artist Award — Awarded to the best performing artist.
