The Frank C. Bressler Legacy Council Ensure our Tradition of Excellence, for Generations to Come. The Frank C. Bressler Legacy Council honors alumni, faculty, grateful patients and friends who have made provisions through their estate plans or other planned giving vehicles to support the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Frank C. Bressler, a member of the class of 1885, left $1.2 million in a bequest to benefit the School of Medicine at his death in 1935. Dr. Bressler’s bequest, realized during the troubled time of the Great Depression, provided the School with a truly exceptional sum for the day. The Bressler Legacy Council serves to recognize those individuals who have demonstrated a special, long term commitment to the School of Medicine and to promote and encourage transformational lifetime philanthropy that ensures our tradition of excellence continues for generations to come. Bressler Legacy Council membership application or other written notification informing the University of Maryland School of Medicine or University of Maryland Medical Alumni Association of its designation as a charitable beneficiary in a: Will, Bequest, Living Trust or Testamentary Trust Charitable Gift Annuity Charitable Remainder Trust or Charitable Lead Trust Qualified Retirement Plan Life Insurance Policy Deed of a Property through Transfer or Life Estate
