Elcowire has signed a groundbreaking agreement with Meva Energy to supply 9 MW of renewable biogas to its Helsingborg facility in Sweden. This deal makes Elcowire the first copper wire producer globally to fully replace fossil gas with fossil-free energy in its production process, setting a new standard for sustainable metallurgy. The partnership addresses a critical challenge in the industry, as copper melting has traditionally relied on fossil fuels to achieve the high temperatures required for metal production.

Elcowire’s Helsingborg facility, providing 9 MW of renewable biogas over the 15-year period.
Our ESDs now third party verfified
Upgraded versions for our produtction in Helsingborg, Sweden and recently added to the production in Hettstedt, Germany Elcowire’s Environmental Self Declarations (ESDs) provide transparent information about the environmental impact of our copper products, in line with ISO 14040:2006 and ISO 14044:2006 LCA standards. The documents also follows ISO 14021:2016.
These declarations highlight key attributes, including recycled content, recyclability, resource efficiency, and regulatory compliance, allowing our customers to understand the sustainability profile of Elcowire's copper products.
Through these assessments, we aim to support informed, eco-conscious purchasing decisions and reinforce green initiatives. Our commitment to ESDs underscores Elcowire’s dedication to promoting responsible, sustainable practices in copper production and across our supply chains.
All our ESDs are verified by Swedish Environmental Research Institute.
