Brief History:Zhanjiang was once a French colony, forming a blend of Chinese and Western architectural style. In this street there have been many historical events, leaving a rich historical and cultural heritage.
Main Problems: In the course of the site research ,this old block has several problems: The landscape style is monotonous, with the lack of interest in the vertical design.Civilized atmosphere is relatively thin.In view of the above problems, three main strategies would be applied.
Culture

3
StrategiesďźšThe introduction of a modern cultural industry or interpretation the history in a modern way are necessary.A corridor which capable of connecting the nodes of the site would be designed for visitors to appreciate the street in more views. A sunken square would be placed in the open air for cultural performances.

Business
Brief History:In ancient times Chikan street was a bustling commercial area. But with the economic center of the transfer, the region's economy gradually decline. To build a tourist area, the introduction of business activation of this old area is essential.
Main Problems:The business format here is lack of diversity which means the street can’t meet the needs of the majority of local residents and tourists. Business can be ser ved as a carrier of local characteristics, emphasizing the commercial and the interaction of tourists.
Strategies:Therefore traditional business can be introduced such as: hand-woven, clay sculpture, characteristic handicrafts, local food and rooftop bars, cafes, etc. All of those can meet the consumption need. Besides, the location of business will be well planned to provied the best experience for visitors.

Pattern: By Categorizing existing functions(residence, business, culture, green space) of the riverfront landscape, the system of waterfront landscape typologies is generated to provide a pattern for water front landscape design and ease the problem of water quality and monotonous landscape. Experiment Site: The drainage basin is divided by 250m grids as control area. And what in the red square is our expeimental site. Implementation of the Pattern •A waterfront landscape design pattern is generated, which was inspired by the observation of waterfront design typologies and previous research. •This pattern can not only beautify the urban environment but also enhance the connection between the citizens and the city. •According to the research in Zhanjiang, this pattern can be implemented in other parts of the river to form a urban waterfront landscape network,in order to make the city a better place on a larger scale. The Resilient Ecological Edge Elastic reborn of an abandoned island
Brief Introduction
• Project: Academic • Individual:Original idea built on teamwork,redesign by me. • Location:Zhanjiang,Guangdong,China • Size: 44.68 hm2 • Medium: Oil painting,Hand Drawing,AutoCAD,Photoshop, Sketch up,Adobe Illustrator,Adobe InDesign
Intention:
• The plan aims to not only create a cleaner and more natural environment for birds habbitat but also provide local people a place for recreation and ecological education. • Ecosystem repair technique and eco-filtration will be applied to repair the degrading area. • The tides bring sea animals ashore which can attract birds to stop by and salt-tolerant plants will be plant in the site. Both of which can promote the contruction of the ecological habbitat and reconnect people to the nature.
