Simple Present Tense Este tiempo verbal se usa en inglés para expresar: 1. Acciones que se repiten o son regulares en un periodo de tiempo

 I take the train to the office.

 Yo cojo el tren para la oficina

 The train to Berlin leaves every hour.

 El tren a Berlín sale cada hora

 John sleeps eight hours every night during the week.

 John duerme ocho horas cada noche durante la semana

2. Para expresar hechos:

 The presiden of the USA lives in  El presidente de los Estados Unidos the White house vive en La Casa Blanca  A dog has four legs

 Un perro tiene cuatro patas

 We live in Spain

 Nosotros vivimos en España

3. Para expresar rutinas diarias:

 I get up early every day

 Me levanto temprano todos los días

 Carol brushes her teeth twice a day  Carol se cepillas los dientes dos veces al día  They travel to their country house  Ellos viajan a su casa de campo every weekend todos los fines de semana. 4. Para expresar cosas que siempre o generalmente son verdaderas:

 It rains a lot in winter

 Llueve mucho en invierno

 The Queen of England lives at  La Reina de Inglaterra vive en el Buckingham Palace Palacio de Buckingham.  Bristish people speak English

 Los ingleses hablan inglés.

se añade – ES a la tercera persona.   

kiss – kisses fix – fixes buzz – buzzes

 Verbos terminados en CONSONANTE + Y, cambiamos la –y por i y se añade -es    

marry – marries study – studies carry – carries worry – worries

 Para verbos terminados en vocal + y 

solo añadimos - s

enjoy – enjoys
