YÜ BIN CARDINAL CEMETERY DESIGN

SITE ANALYSIS Cemetery is located at Fu Jen Catholic University. Due to the location is not easy to find and remote. Also, the environment is dark. Meantime the architecture is not very striking. Few people pass by or visit.

PURPOSE By reforming of this cemetery, to let more people know the contribution of the Yü Bin Cardinal to Fu Jen Catholic University. Changing this place to be an educational and lecture space. So that no more students would feel terrified passing this cemetery.

Design Concept Bloom First of all centered by building itself and then expanded outward. Attracting people / things / objects of the school proactively. Make active “people like to go closer to this place. Along with the crowds move to get aura flows together. Make this place vivid, no longer a land-still place.

B&B located in Yi-Lan. Lots of typhoons affect this area in summer. Hence, there would be lots of driftwood and wastes deposited on the coast. Also this place is close to the Wai’ao beach with many visitors. Trash damaged the seashore view and scene. Hope to use environmental protection and waste re-design as the theme. By B&B promotion and place provided, plus interacted handmade class teaching to finding usable and re-usable waste to make them a new art.
