QUEEN'S NOTES

I am the Inaugural Ms. Achievement Barbados 2023 and I will compete in July 2023 for Ms. Achievement World 2023 virtually. My platform is Black Music Preservation via The Rhythm and Blues Preservation Society a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) music society with a mission to preserve Black music culture one record at a time. I decided to compete in this pageant because I am on a heritage journey of my Bajan roots My Great-grandmother Mrs Adelaide Barker Melrose came to America via Ellis Island in the early 1900s. I grew up around my Nana but I never asked her about Barbados as a child. I wish that I had asked her questions about her homeland. But I am determined to find out about my Bajan roots and I dedicate my title to her and my Grandmother Ms Edith Melrose who passed away in 2022. www divinevoicesmedia com www.facebook.com/MsAchievementBa rbados23

I REMEMBER HIP HOP IN 1975 WHEN I WOULD VISIT MY NANA IN THE BRONX NEAR ST.

MARY'S PARK WHERE BASKETBALL AND MUSIC WENT HAND IN HAND.
