1. BACKGROUND -A general knowledge about usWhat is AIESEC?
AIESEC is the world’s largest student-run organization present in more than 1500 universities across 113 countries and hence, varied backgrounds and skills requirements can addressed through the network of 34,000 AIESEC members. AIESEC main activity is to run leadership development program as a leadership development platform for young people around the world. We work with global corporations to connect and source global and diverse talent.
What is PBoX?
Project(s) Based On Exchange (PBoX) – Alligned with the vision of AIESEC which is ‘Peace and Fulfilment of Humankinds’ Potential’, using the AIESEC Way provides its members with an integrated development experience known as the AIESEC Experience. All events under PBoX will be conducted by interns from all the world inside and outside of the campus. The projects revolve around world issues. To date, AIESEC in Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) is running three projects concurrently. One of the projects is

What is C.U.T.E. ?
C.U.T.E. is an initiative project by AIESEC in Universiti Utara Malaysia started in 2009. We believe that not everyone is the same around the world. C.U.T.E. creates an active learning platform for our target audiences in discovering Malaysian culture while sharing theirs with us, hence minimizing the misunderstanding and broadens the network of our target audiences.

OBJECTIVE (1) To enable youths from all over the world to discover, understand and respect cultural differences and similarities through an in-depth experience with other cultures. (2) To enhance global connections and the interactions of varied cultures, including issues and consequences that cross cultures issues. (3) To acquire and demonstrate effective communications skills to interact successfully interact with people of other cultures. (4) To deliver learning opportunities through our activities that promote cultural sharing and understanding. (5) To promote cultural awareness and understanding among youths towards cultural issues. (6) To promote Malaysia to the international platform.

4. PAST EVENT -Let’s create our own stories togetherFrom 2011 until now, our project expand through doing workshops, exhibition and language classes. We have 70 interns came from 20 different countries. We have educated more than 9 751 students throughout the term.

5. MEASUREMENT OF SUCCESS -A goal without a plan just a wish-
• 75% of success in all the activities. • 75% positive feedback from interns and Junior Executive (JEs) about the activities. • Engage with at least three high schools. • Organize a Cultural Workshop with at least 80 participants. • Organize an exhibition with at least 300 pass by. • Organize Showcase Day with at least 200 participants. • 500 C.U.T.E. Agents.

6.1 EXPECTATION -The price of greatness is responsibility---Winston Churchill-
You are expected to equip yourself with sufficient AIESEC knowledge and other relevant knowledge before you come to Malaysia. You are required to walk frequently to the working place or meeting place.
Please ensure the cleanliness of the place you stay and ensure all facilities that are provided by AIESEC and the authorities are always in good condition. You have to wear decent clothing: formal wear during office hours; and NO SHORT PANTS, SLEEVELESS AND DRESS ABOVE KNEE are allowed, even after office hours.
Strictly NO SMOKING, NO ALCOHOL, AND NO FOUL LANGUAGE. There will be NO INTIMATE TOUCHING between females and males, especially in public. You are expected to inform someone when you want to go travelling or to leave the group, NEVER GO MISSING WITHOUT NOTICE.

Apart from these, you are also EXPECTED to be:
1. As an ambassador to your country, you might want to show a good example and keep your country’s reputation intact. 2. You might need to meet the authority of the university if necessary, please keep in mind that you are representing AIESEC and your own country. 3. You will ONLY receive your certificate from AIESEC in UUM.
4. There are no 1st class accommodations, and you have to share room and toilets with other interns. 5. Although Malaysia is a food paradise, the food here might be very different from what you are used to, e.g. the food is spicy, so be prepared. 6. You will be very free sometimes when there are no activities ongoing but will be very busy at some other time. So be flexible about it. 7. Your holiday will be based on the project timeline. 8. You are expected to be able to work independently with little or no help.

7. PROJECT DETAIL -Are you ready for cultural exchange?-
Accommodation will be provided during the whole duration of internship. Interns would need to pay 210 MYR or 60.31 USD for 6 weeks of accommodation fee.
6 weeks project will start from 20th January to 2nd March.

8.1 PROJECT ACTIVITIES -We work hard & play hard-
Cultural Workshop in high school
Organize workshops for high schools and students to explain country culture knowledge and engage students in cultural activities. Interns are committed to come out some creative topic to attract students in joining workshops and raise cultural awareness.
Prepare country traditional costume, food, cultural items and so on to present in the exhibition and workshop. Prepare presentation, games and performances to present country culture to create cultural understanding to the people in host country.

Attend a training or education about facilitation before project start Involved in planning stage, designed content for the workshop with other interns and project members. Have a clear view of what sessions should be delivered on each days and what is the goal and flow of the sessions. Understand the reality of the issues and facilitate the activities.

Showcase Day
Plan and execute culture showcase event. Interns need to plan the agenda and activities in the event. Performance will be done by interns according the objective of the event and create awareness to the communities. Interns need to ensure flow and the quality of the event by delivering cultural value to the communities.
Interns can experience Malaysia life style culture and participate in religious and cultural ceremony especially Chinese New Year as homestay programme will be running during Chinese New Year.

Visit NGO in Penang area majoring in cultural aspects. Hence, interns need to engage in cultural exposure that will be conducted by NGO. Interns can utilize knowledge that is gained from NGO visit in upcoming workshops.

8. Participate in AIESEC activities if possible, this is where you get to interact with members and other interns in the LC and other interesting people. We are sure you don’t want to miss it.
