SAFETY REMINDER Roller skating, like any other sport activity, is commonly prone to risks; thus, please read through and follow the safety measures outlined in this manual. Safety Equipment To reduce the chance of injury, please use safety equipment such as a helmet and protective gear around your kneecaps, elbows, and wrists. Speed Control Please avoid skating at high speeds, especially on steep and long slopes where it may be more difficult to control the speed of the skates. Before attempting to skate on sloped roadways, remember that you must be able to completely manage your skate speed to guarantee the safety of yourself and others. Stop Control To ensure maximum safety when skating, it is important to understand how to stop your skates from rolling, with the toe stopper.
Happy Rollin'! 5
BEFORE YOU PUT ON YOUR ROLLER SKATES, THERE ARE A FEW THINGS YOU SHOULD CONSIDER: Check all wheels and axles are fastened securely Check that all screws and bolts on the wheels are fastened; if any screws are loose, please tighten them using an skate tool before skating; this is especially important for new wheels Check that all attachments and skate parts function properly and are in good shape. Before skating, please inspect the roller skates for cracks, breaks, and/or bends. Have your skates replaced immediately if any of the above are found. Always ensure your roller skates are laced tight to ensure maximum ankle support for safety purposes. It is recommended to select a smooth, flat surface that is free of debris to skate on. Roller skates should not be used on slippery or wet surfaces. Avoid water, oil, sand, gravel, dirt, leaves, and other material on roadways and surfaces. Please wear comfortable sports socks with your roller skates and always wear safety gear such as a helmet, knee guards, elbow guards, and wrist guards when necessary. Keep this manual on hand whenever necessary Check the wear and tear on the skates, such as the wheels and brakes, and replace any worn or damaged components as soon as possible.

TRAFFIC RULES Understand the traffic rules in your region before you start skating on the roads. Put on protective equipment when necessary Ensure you are well equipped with the necessary skills such as turning and stopping when skating on busy roads with higher traffic flow. Always be vigilant and maintain your balance Do not skate on roads with small rocks, slippery and uneven roads. Keep an eye on your skating speed at all times and slow down if the visibility of the road is poor.

TIPS FOR BEGINNER SKATERS Adjust skates Check that your skates are properly fastened and laced. Adjust the skates as needed as every motion is performed and controlled by your feet, which should be as close to the skates as possible. The First Step: Suitable location If you are new to the activity, pick a good training place to practice at to ensure your safety. To begin, look for regions with flat and level terrain, avoiding hills, sloping slopes, and busy roads. Standing up To practice standing up on your wheels, use a railing or a wall support; if there is nothing you can use for support, position one foot beneath you and both hands on the ground to push yourself up. Stop Motion Make sure you practice stopping and slowing down on your skates since it may be dangerous if you don't, especially on busy roads with a high traffic and inclined surfaces.

TIPS FOR BEGINNER SKATERS Get Moving Slowly To keep your balance, stand with your feet shoulder width apart and slightly bent knees. Begin by pushing backwards with one of your dominant feet and gliding forward; repeat this action with your other foot to begin skating forward. Take small steps at first and try to maintain your balance at all times. Hi Roller skates have an attached stopper on the front of your skates; however, bear in mind that the stopper does not offer an immediate halt to high speeds; this is dependent on how fast you are skating and how much pressure you apply to the stopper. Balance your body by keeping your knees slightly bent and leaning forward slightly. Slowly tilt your dominant feet upwards leaving your heel above the ground, and apply pressure on the stopper to initiate a stop motion. The greater the force applied to the stopper, the more effective the stopping power will be. Make a turn Turn your body to one side and retain the gaps between your knees shoulder-width apart; make sure your hips turn first, and your legs will move accordingly. Practice with turning right and left.

SKATE MAINTENACE Avoid skating on wet, sandy and dirty grounds Keep bearings dry at all times and apply lubricant to the bearings regularly to avoid rust After skating, be sure to air out your skates and insert deodorizing balls in the boots. After skating, remove any extra dust and grime from the wheels and trucks. To replace your wheels and bearings, use the tools provided. Clean the sides of the screws and skate tops as well
HOW TO CHANGE YOUR WHEELS Check your wheels for excessive abrasion and flat areas on a regular basis, since these can cause unbalanced wheels, which can be an impediment to your skating ability and may be dangerous.

What you will need : 1. Roller Skate Tool with a size 13 or 1/2inch wrench to remove and tighten the nuts on the axles 2. Bearing Press or a Bearing Tool to separate the bearings and spacer from the old wheels and put them onto the new wheels 3. A small container to store all the small removable parts like the nuts, washers and spacers 4. A cloth to wipe off any excess dirt, grease, and hair How to change: Fit the roller skate tool with the size 13 wrench onto the nut on the axle of your skate. Remember "lefty loosey, righty tighty" and unscrew the nut from the axle. Completely remove the nut from the wheel and take off your old wheel. (put your nut in the small container for later or you might lose it - they are small and tend to roll away). Pull the old wheel off the axle, the bearings will stay in the wheel. You may want to take this opportunity to remove any dirt, grease and hair from the truck and axle. Next you can take your bearings and spacers out of the old wheels by using a bearing press or bearing tool and push them back on into your new wheels.
13
Put your new wheel (already fitted with bearings) onto the axle - depending on the wheel there might be more or less room than your old wheels. Some wheels are wider than others. Gently screw on a nut with your fingers to get the threading aligned. You may wish to change your nuts depending on the fit of your wheels. Then tighten the nut on using a roller skate tool with the size 13 wrench - turn to the right to tighten until it feels tight. Then turn slightly back to the left to give your wheel room to spin. Make sure your wheel is loose enough to spin but tight enough that it won't fall off. Spin the wheels with your hand to make sure you are good to go. Check your nuts regularly to make sure they haven't become loose and if you have any problems changing your wheels try troubleshooting. Common Problems: Wonky/bent bearings - always use a bearing tool or press to remove and put in bearings as they can get dented and twisted which means they won't fit correctly on the axle. Loose nuts - nuts keep falling off or won't tighten properly? They may need replacing.

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR TOE STOPS Change your toe stops when the stoppers are overused and run down until the screw. For Adjustable Toe Stops To tighten those stoppers, simply tighten the large lock nut, located at the base of the toe stop bolt, using a skate tool or size 24 crescent wrench or simply using your hands if the nuts are not too tight. You may need to lean your weight into it a bit to tighten those almost as tight as you can. To remove or adjust the height of these stoppers, first loosen the large lock nut then adjust their height, or remove them by unscrewing them fully out of the plate. Once you're done, make sure to tighten the lock nuts back in place, squeezing the tension washers against the plates or they could fall off during use. For Non-Adjustable Toe Stops To tighten those stoppers, simply tighten the hex key above the toestops on the plates with a 5mm allen key. You may need to lean your weight into it a bit to tighten those almost as tight as you can.

TRUCK ADJUSTMENT What you will need: Roller Skate Tool with a size 15 or 9/16 inch wrench to remove and tighten the nuts on the trucks A small container to store all the small removable parts like the nuts and washers Trucks are what makes your skates turn. They are adjusted by tightening/loosening the four 15mm bolts or hex nuts between the wheels on the underside of your skates. Remember "lefty loosey, righty tighty" Tighter trucks will feel more stable but less agile and will turn less easily. Deciding how tight to tighten your trucks is a personal choice. The trucks may loosen over time as a result of vibrations and your cushions compressing. It's a good idea to keep an eye on them, and make sure all 4 are set similarly, and the same from one foot to the other. Trucks should not be loose enough for you to be able to wiggle them with just your fingers, nor should they be so tight that you cannot move them at all with full hands on the wheels.
