Who We Are:
DARE Black Studies Program: Fred Hampton Institute for Resistance For the summer of 2015 the Black Studies program at DARE (Direct Action for Rights and Equality) launched the Fred Hampton Institute for Resistance. This community-based political education project systematically investigates the robust and empowering tradition of Black radical thought and Black organized resistance. This rigorous program places an emphasis on providing theoretically grounded political instruction to folks from oppression-resisting communities as a mechanism to engender movementbased political organizing.
