My series Exquisite Corpse employs the Surrealist parlour game of exquisite corpses and cyanotype processes to distort and give new meaning to the human figure. Archival imagery sourced from the NGV Collection is superimposed to evoke a head, torso and legs. The cyanotype process further unifies the visuals as they are exposed to the sun simultaneously, creating a familiar yet bizarre human silhouette. I was particularly inspired by Jake and Dinos Chapman's Exquisite Corpse etchings that use the game to create both amusing and grotesque forms. Similarly to the Chapman duo, I want my viewers to be both humoured and perplexed by these unconventional figures that challenge their notions of the human body and anatomy.
