FOR IMMIDIATE RELEASE
Bringing Fashion to Life on the Streets of London Brand new app London Style Stories provides users with a fresh take on the history of London by taking them on an audio fashion tour of the city. The app, which is released in May, gives users an interactive map of the city which is made up of hundreds of audio bites detailing London’s relationship with fashion and combining the two to create a guided tour around London. On May 5th the V&A museum will be teaming up with London Style Stories to celebrate London’s relationship with fashion with a series of talks and exhibitions featuring some of the fashion makers and shapers who took part in the creation of the audio bites. Guest speakers include Vivienne Westwood, Sarah Burton, David Bailey, and Annette Worsley-Taylor. Sarah Burton – “It was extremely exciting taking part in the creation of the app, every single audio bite is a fascinating account of London fashion and the fact that you can walk around this beautiful city and see it all for yourself is marvellous. It provides such a refreshing view of London.” The app itself uses the mobile phone’s geographical location to guide the user through the areas which feature audio bites but also to guide them to any of the areas before they begin the tour. Once the app is downloaded users will be able to go straight to the map or select an era or area of the city they want to explore. Once this is decided a clear and easy to follow route will be mapped out which also has the ability to adjust itself if the user goes ‘off-route’. There is the freedom to turn the route option off so that users can make their own way around, selecting audio bites as they arrive at each destination. The London Style Stories app also has its own website which will feature all the audio bites and the interactive map, perfect for those who aren’t coming to visit the capital but still want to immerse themselves into London’s fashion history. London Style Stories launches on both iPhone and Android on the May 5 th documenting the style stories that make up one of the world’s greatest cities. -End Contact: Sophie Coulson sophiecoulson@live.co.uk 07807979116 Editor’s notes V&A x Style Stories Monday 5th May, 10am until 11pm Victoria and Albert Museum, Cromwell Road, SW7 2RL
