Brief/Session/Document Title Faber & Faber Typographic Series Brief Create a range of typographic book covers from the Faber & Faber film series with promotional print and design media through online and retail (in store) promotional media. Background / Considerations -
Potential design processes and outcomes. Choose initial titles and effective means of visual communication through typographic designs. Define audience/readers of the selected titles and ways in which to promote the books most effectively. Research existing (typographic) cover design. Research existing Faber & Faber covers and “in house� style. Research the history of Faber & Faber and the content/context of their books and retail outlets in which they are most frequently sold.

Research existing cover designs both within and outside of the Faber & Faber range/series. Research chosen film titles for accurate portrayal through typographic outcomes. Research retail graphics within various bookstore retailers throughout the United Kingdom. Research the practicalities and how to design for web/digital eBook editions. Research audience and the most effective means of both promotional and design communication.

Series of typographic Faber & Faber book covers from the film title series (3 minimum) Web promotion (through Faber & Faber website) In store retail Graphics (selected highstreet stores, Waterstones, WHSmith, etc) iPad/e Book cover editions Print- based promotion (Magazine/Newspaper advertisements) Print- based outdoor advertising (bus/shell advertising, etc.)
