Are you hosting a Super Bowl party this year? Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a rookie, these tips, tricks and recipes will make sure your party is a “Win!”
One Week Before Make the menu. You don’t want to break the #1 rule of super bowl parties and not have enough food and drinks. Get a head count of your guests and plan at least a pound of food per guest. A good rule of thumb is to plan for chips, dips and simple snack food for the pregame, bring out a hot entrée 30 minutes before the game and another hot entrée at half time. This will keep the party alive and the guests well fed. (Check out our recipes on pages 14 & 15.) Don’t forget about desserts, but don’t fuss too much over them. Simple cookies or cupcakes are perfect for this occasion. For drinks, plan at least 4 drinks per guest. Although beer is the customary drink of choice, don’t forget to plan nonalcoholic beverages, too. Pro Tip: Don’t want to bake? Place an order at your local bakery! A few we love are Wood Next, decide which party games to play. Game Day It’s go time! If you’ve followed this check list and our tips so far, the only thing left to do is finish cooking, serve the food, and put the drinks on ice! As your guests arrive, offer them a drink and show them to the food, and tell them about the Super Bowl Squares and Bingo games. (Pro tip: Tell your guests to arrive no earlier than 1 ½ hours before game time to avoid running out of drinks/ food and over inebriation. If a guest arrives earlier than that, give them a task like putting drinks on ice and setting the food out on the serving tables.) Pro Tip: If guests offer to bring anything, always request ice. There is never too much!
Also, if you for some reason, you do run out of food, plan on ordering carryout/delivery from a local restaurant. Look up their number ahead of time and keep it handy. This will lower your stress. Now it’s time to sit back, relax and cheer for your team!
Pro Tip: If guests offer to bring Pro Tip: Don’t something, alwaysfeel like cooking? say,Order "Ice, please.” carryout and support
