SOPHISTICATED WEDDINGS
KYNLIE FREEMAN & WILLIAM REAMES/October 31, 2020
Nashville songwriters strike the perfect chord at their intimate fall wedding
Nashville songwriters William and Kynlie tied the knot on October 31st in the chapel at First Presbyterian Church in front of their wedding party and immediate families. The reception followed at Woodland Hollow at Annie Acres Farm—a family-owned event space off Briley Parkway. Their venue was open-air with the help of sliding barn doors, so they were technically outdoors and used heaters to warm the area and be comfortable on the chilly fall evening.
They had planned on having 200 guests at the reception but ended up scaling that number to around 75-making the difficult but essential decision to keep the guest list small, knowing this was the safest choice for their older, more at-risk family members. Everything turned out perfectly, and they were so glad to be able to still celebrate with their closest friends and family.
The newlyweds traveled to California the next day for their honeymoon and spent a week in Napa and a few days in San Francisco. Kynlie and William have known each other for a while, both having attended Harding Academy. They became friends years later because of their shared passion for songwriting. William reached out to Kynlie to collaborate with him after hearing her music, and the rest is history. Kynlie currently works for a business management company on Music Row, and William is pursuing his music career with his band— Nashville’s beloved “Boy Named Banjo.” They currently live in the West Meade area of Nashville with their two dogs Theo and Luna.
MOLLY WHITE & JOEY VIOLA/ February 1, 2020
A Nashville couple discover that timing is everything
Molly White and Joey Viola had the good fortune of getting married before Covid was even a consideration. The couple wed on February 1, at St. George’s Episcopal Church. Their reception was held at BelleMeade Country Club in a grand clear tent designed by Dori Waller, covered with thousands of string lights to resemble a starry sky. The bride and her mother Barby remarked that while looking at the wedding photos, how strange it seems to see so many people so close together having a great time on the dance floor!
The bride wore an elegant lace gown by Monique Lhuillier, with the men in the wedding party in black tie and the ladies in long gunmetal dresses. Molly and Joey cut their tiered wedding cake with an antique 200-year-old sword that is a family heirloom from the White family. They made their exit from the reception to a magical surprise “snowfall.”
They traveled to the Maldives for their honeymoon, stopping in Qatar for a few days on the way there. The couple realizes how lucky they are to have had all their friends and family together before the pandemic began and to have the opportunity to travel abroad before the Covid outbreak. Their thoughts are with all the couples who have had to make adjustments to their big days.
The couple met at the University of Georgia and started dating six years ago when we were both juniors. (Joey’s mother is responsible for introducing them at a bar). Joey is a Business Development Specialist at the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, and Molly is an Asset Manager for Covenant Capital Group. The Violas live in Nashville and are working on their new home that they share with their two dogs Teddy and Shadow.
