FRENCH TWIST

Russian interior designer Oksana Salberg–Vachnadze imbues a modern Moscow apartment with French flair Styled by Dasha Soboleva / Photography by Krasyuk Sergey and courtesy of Boca Do Lobo Created by Oksana Salberg–Vachnadze, a Russian interior designer and founder of the O2 Design Moscow studio, this modern apartment is all about vivid colors and well-balanced contrasts. The bright color palette and bold pattern choices highlight the modern lines of the lighting and furniture design in every room. The floorplan of the apartment is simple: three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an open-concept kitchen and living room. The owner’s vision was also straightforward: interiors that boasted a modern edge. Color is a powerful design tool in each room. Salberg–Vachnadze’s 28 slmag.net

generous use of yellow aims to impart feelings associated with the hue, namely happiness intellect and energy. She tempers this vivacity with French blue to convey power and a touch more seriousness. Serving as the project’s greeting card, the living room is full of bright accent colors—blue, yellow, gold, and green—that are elevated against the white background of the walls and ceiling. Grounding the seating area is a round Boca do Lobo coffee table with a polished stainless-steel base and tempered smoked glass top resting on an abstract-print rug.
