The Emily in Paris lifestyle will cost you over $23,000 a month, new study finds.
Nothing short of extravagant, Emily in Paris showcases the best fashion, the coolest Parisian spots, and beautiful scenery. With parts one and two of the popular show finally released on Netflix and a fifth season recently announced, McLuck social casino blog has revealed Emily’s lifestyle will set you back a staggering $23,039 a month.
McLuck blog examined Emily’s monthly costs, including rent and utilities for her fifth arrondissement apartment, coffee, cocktails, taxi rides, dining out, and clothing.
Apartment and utilities
Emily lives in the fifth arrondissement of Paris, also known as the Latin Quarter. To rent a one-bedroom
apartment in this prestigious central location would cost around $1,786.80 per month. Utilities for a onebedroom apartment, including electricity, water, and garbage disposal, would cost around $282.82 per month.
Food and drink
Emily is regularly grabbing a coffee on her way to the office. The cost of one coffee in Paris is approximately $5.47 (€4.91), so considering how often Emily visits the coffee shop, the cost of around 20 coffees per month would total $109.40 (€98.20).
Emily often eats at the many amazing restaurants across Paris. The restaurant that appears frequently on the show is Ristorante Terra Nera, also known on the show as the
restaurant owned by Gabriel. Other Parisian restaurants featured on the show include Bistrot De Valois, L'Ambroisie, and Bouillon Chartier. The cost of a three-course meal for two in Paris is around $94.66 each, which means 20 a month would set Emily back around $1,893.21.
Season four of Emily in Paris sees Emily visit Le Bar Josephine at the Hotel Lutetia for cocktails with Mindy, where Emily may have paid around $15.59 for one cocktail. Evenings spent in cocktail bars around Paris will cost Emily $311.82 based on 20 a month.
Commuting
One of the main characters is the city of Paris itself, with the show truly showcasing the city and some of its beautiful scenery. In season four, viewers see Emily visiting Claude Monet’s house in Giverny, Jardin du Palais-Royal, and Place de Valois, where Savoir’s office is located. Emily travels around the city, but in all four seasons of the show, she rarely mentions taking the Metro. Instead, Emily is regularly seen taking a taxi, which for an 8km ride would cost her around $23.07. A total of 20 taxi rides per month would cost her $461.50.
Fashion
Last but not least, Emily’s wardrobe. The fashion in the show often takes center stage, with Emily’s outfits being anything but boring. Season four is no different, showcasing designers such as Celine, Miu Miu,
Christopher Esber, and Missoni. The total cost of 36 clothing items and accessories worn by Emily in season four is a staggering $36,387.45. When the cost is split over a year, Emily would spend approximately $3,032.33 per month on clothes and accessories.
One of season four's wildest and most expensive outfits is the Jitrois red leather jumpsuit Emily wears on her night out with Mindy, worth $3,950. She styles this with Maison Ernest Bandit red leather thigh-high boots worth around $1,995. Another dramatic outfit appears in episode three of part one, where Emily attends the masquerade ball dressed in a custom Nina Ricci jumpsuit. While the price of this custom piece is unconfirmed, Emily styles it with an oversized black hat worth $1,032.
