Ouidah ‘ who worship python’ is a mid-size place in the region of Atlantic in Benin with a population of approximately 162.034 (2017) people and it is in the southern part of Benin. Ouidah is known for the principal role in the slave trade during the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, when nearly two million people were embarked on ships and from the beach at Ouidah


Project definition and proposal The project serves : A-To educate the visitors and people about what happened during the slave trade. B-To provide opportunities for the indigene . C-To increase the touristic aspect of the city

“The door of no return� is a symbolic door, a memorial arch in ouidah. This was the last step towards the unknown during the slave trade. Today the place is used for the international voodoo festival that holds every 10 january

SWOT Analysis SRENGTHS -Non-commercial area -Historic place -The site is accessible to pedestrians as well as vehicles -Touristic place -Several festivals are done around the site - UNESCO world heritage

WEAKNESSES -Poor organization of tourism activities -Lack of adapted transport for visitors -The need of people, Lack of investment -Pollution -Lack of street lights in the area

-The ocean can be incorporated into the design -Recreational activities such as boating around the site can attract more people to the project
