Little children – big dreams When little Hilmer visits his Aunt Anna and Aunt Clara, he has his own bedroom, which is beautifully decorated for young children with lively imaginations. This is where he spends countless hours a day, happily immersed in his games and play. Every evening before Hilmer goes to sleep, Anna and Clara take it in turns to tell him stories about happy animals which inhabit his wonderful dreams. “Even though you are only a little boy, Hilmer, you should always have big dreams,” says Clara one evening, while Hilmer, with heavy eyelids, listens intensely. SWEET BEDTIME STORIES
Compose sweet goodnight stories for your children The sisters’ nephew Hilmer always wants to hear a bedtime story before going to sleep, so Anna and Clara take it in turns telling wonderful and enchanting tales. In fact, Anna even created a theatre, where her exquisite paper cut-outs come to life while accompanying the sisters’ storytelling. Learn how to make up your own bedtime stories with just a couple of tips from the two sisters. 1. Start by choosing a hero. For example, it could be the intrepid rabbit you can see slumped on the moon. You can also choose a helper, who will accompany the rabbit on its adventure. 2. Now, you need to find a mission, which the rabbit will set out to accomplish. Anna, for example, thinks that the intrepid rabbit is dreaming of becoming a sailor and exploring the world’s oceans. Perhaps the rabbit is even dreaming about becoming a pirate, but that is for you to decide. 3. However, it is never that easy to realise your dreams, so the rabbit will have to fight a bit for what it wants. Therefore, there has to be an opponent, perhaps a sly fox, and a giver, who at the end will give the rabbit what it has been striving to achieve. It could be a captain or a king, if you ask Anna. If you follow these three steps, you will then have a simple but effective storyline – and from there the sky is the limit. Perhaps involve your child in the composition, and then together you can create your own unique and wonderful bedtime story. FIRST MOMENT CARDS
Note down and record your child’s first moments It is important to celebrate and remember your child’s first formative experiences. For this purpose, First moment cards are a wonderful aid which the sisters highly recommend. You can choose to take a photograph of your child holding the card, or just make a note about the important day. Healthy and nutritious breakfast smoothie A wonderful day starts with a healthy and solid breakfast – which is neither difficult nor time-consuming to prepare, if you ask Anna. Therefore, she often starts the day with a morning smoothie made with organic fruit. The beautiful, natural colours of the fruit make these smoothies fun to drink, and they are therefore perfect for children and adults who want a healthy and nutritious start to the day. Ingredients One handful of strawberries, quartered One banana, sliced Four tablespoons of Greek yoghurt 200 ml of milk 1. Quarter the strawberries and slice the banana. It is a good idea to prepare the fruit at the weekend or when you have plenty of time, so you are not rushed off your feet in the morning. The fruit can easily be stored in the freezer, although Anna and Clara suggest you do not keep them there for too long. 2. Tip the fruit, Greek yoghurt and the milk into the blender, and whizz. However, halve the amount of milk if you prefer a thicker consistency. Now all you have to do is serve your smoothie, either in cups or bowls, whichever you prefer. For the sake of variety, you can also make smoothies using different fruit combinations. The sisters, for example, recommend the following: • Three kiwi fruits, quartered, and one banana, sliced. • One mango and two slices of pineapple, diced. The sisters wish you a wonderful and cosy start to the day with your darling children.
