Craft


Switchback Ale was developed as a flavor concept, not adhering to any style guidelines. Using only traditional ingredients, Switchback Ale is an unfiltered, reddish-amber ale which is particularly well-balanced, allowing for complexity of flavor coupled with an unusually smooth and refreshing character. Five different malts, select hop varieties, and our own specially cultivated yeast create an ale which leads with hop flavors and a subtle impression of fruit (our yeast’s contribution), followed by a palate pleasing malty finish. All Switchback beers are brewed in Burlington, Vermont and are carbonated during fermentation by the yeast itself resulting in a 100% naturally conditioned beer. After aging, we simply move the beer to the keg or bottle, leaving it unfiltered for the freshest, fullest, most natural flavor possible.

Our freshly formulated IPA was recently recognized by Paste Magazine as #42 in a list of 324 blindtasted IPAs! Here's a snapshot of their review: "...Berner is scented like orange perfume and wildflowers, and is very soft on the palate, with little bitterness. Effortless in terms of drinking, it combines light pine and resin with subtle hints of sweeter, juicier citrus."

Fresh out of the studio with a new track of tropical fruit and citrus hop flavors coming from a chorus of Galaxy, Citra, Simcoe, and Cascade hops. We upgraded and improved the recipe to give hops the front seat. In Berner IPA you'll find a soft bitterness and smooth mouthfeel that work together to deliver refreshing notes of tropical fruit, melon and citrus.


Head Charge DIPA features an enlightened state of haze and hops; brewed with a bunch of 2-row and oats to deliver the hazy body that has the kids going crazy these days. Robbie and crew dropped around three pounds of hops per barrel into the cold side, which, when you add it all up, ends up being a crazy amount of green designed to send the lupulin aromas straight through your senses.

Citra, Amarillo and Cascade hops lead the charge to deliver a nice citrus and resin character that's balanced by the fruity esters of our house ale yeast. Topped off with a round, creamy mouthfeel from all of those oats.


A Vermont staple. Now available in Vermont's favorite container: The 16 ounce can. Look out for Mountain Ale 4-packs coming to a cooler near you. This unfiltered English Strong Ale is a medium to full-bodied ale, with pronounced caramel and toffee notes, followed by a roasted finish. A moderate hop bitterness is derived from generous kettle additions of Mt. Hood and Northern Brewer hops.

Mountain IPA is high-altitude hoppiness at its peak. This American IPA features plenty of green mountain goodness thanks to the handfuls of Simcoe, Centennial and Chinook hops our guys threw in the kettle, which deliver big notes of pine, resin and citrus.


Our Roots The Shed Brewery has been a Vermont staple for nearly 50 years. The original building on Mountain Road in Stowe was built in 1830 as a blacksmith shop. It later served as a cider mill and local gathering spot for Stowe farmers. During harvest, the local farmers would drop off their harvested apples and stay for a drink of hard cider and spirited conversation.


Goodwater is the project of longtime Williston homebrewer Marty Bonneau and his nephew, Chris Capetz, who relocated with his family to Chittenden County from St. Petersburg, Fla., for Goodwater.


Hoppy Side of Pale American Pale Ale Hoppy Side of Pale tows the line between a pale and an IPA. While there is a slight hop bite towards the end, at its core it remains a smooth drinking full bodied pale ale.


Killington Beer Company is located at 53 Woods Road, at the Spa building in the Woods Resort, Killington, Vermont. The facility opened for production in January of 2018. The brewery features a 4 barrel system which is capable of producing 125 gallons (about 55 cases) per brew. Beers are packaged in keg, cans, 22 ounce and special release bottle formats for distribution throughout the greater Killington area. The brewery holds regular live music events and seminars. We are family friendly with food, soft drinks, and a spacious game room for our younger generation to enjoy!

We chipped away layer after layer to reveal this rock solid IPA.

We heard them: the keyboard warriors, beer snobs and namedroppers. Maybe we were just waiting to drop a delicious double on those guffawkers. Laughing Stock is a big, juicy DIPA with notes of grapefruit, mango and papaya. Brewed with Warrior, Cascade, Amarillo, Citra, Falconer's Flight & Mosaic Hops. Dry hopped with Citra, Mosaic & Falconer's Flight.


A unique and refreshing American-style Hefeweizen.

Is he a who? Or a what? Or perhaps some of both? No one knows for sure as he only travels under heavy clouds of night... Away from his cage, he appears in the distance, causing mischief all around him.


What is can conditioning? Put simply, it helps to carbonate beer. How it works: we add a small amount of sugar and yeast to the beer right before packaging. That small addition helps the beer referment inside the can creating the last bit of carbonation, preserving the beer’s quality, and enhancing its flavor


In the late 1800’s Brooklyn was one of the largest brewing centers in the country, home to more than 45 breweries. Lager beer in the “Vienna” style was one of the local favorites. Brooklyn Lager is amber-gold in color and displays a firm malt center supported by a refreshing bitterness and floral hop aroma. Caramel malts show in the finish. The aromatic qualities of the beer are enhanced by “dry-hopping”, the centuries-old practice of steeping the beer with fresh hops as it undergoes a long, cold maturation. The result is a wonderfully flavorful beer, smooth, refreshing and very versatile with food. Dry-hopping is largely a British technique, which we’ve used in a Viennese-style beer to create an American original.

Boldly Hopped and Balanced

Rebel IPA has an intense juicy, citrus flavor with a lean body and crisp, clean finish. To brew our west coast style IPA, the brewers hand-selected seven American hop varieties and brewed Rebel IPA for maximum hop expression, emphasizing hop flavor and aroma. In 2017, Sam Adams undertook “Project Lupulus,” and brewed a new recipe using experimental hops that were not readily available or had been newly cultivated since Rebel IPA first launched in 2014. Road 2 Ruin - A big, hoppy IPA with plenty of bite! Our assertive, hop-centric Double IPA has a lean malt backdrop and is brewed with four American hop varieties – Summit, Palisade, Cascade and Magnum. Piney, citrus, floral, not-for-the-timid! Lil Heaven Session IPA 4.80% ABV A session IPA in a can. Made with three exotic hops Azacca, Mosaic and Equinox. Taste is of tropical fruits, specifically passion fruit, grapefruit and apricots. Finishes with just enough toasted malt character to balance.


An unfiltered, double dry hopped New England IPA that uses generous amounts of galaxy, citra and azacca ho ps. The result is a “crushable” IPA with notes of tropical juicy fruits, orange, lemonlime and florals. This juicy brew is available in four pack 16 oz cans and on draft. Two Juicy Unfiltered Double IPA8.20% ABV Two Juicy is an unfiltered, cloudy “New England style Double IPA” that uses generous amounts of Hallertauer Blanc, Citra & Mandarina Bavaria hops. The result is a “juicy”, fullycharged DIPA with notes of grapefruit, pine, lychee, orange & tangerine against a soft malt backdrop.

You might have noticed the phrase “Why the hell not?” on the side of our bottles and cans. That phrase has come to symbolize a spirit we’ve had since day one, when we set out to do something that on paper might not have made total sense to those around us: To start brewing beer on some gorgeous wooded property down a quiet road in Lakewood, NY. Since our humble beginnings, Southern Tier Brewing Company has grown into an industry leader. And while our growing fan base relies on our many tried and true originals, they also welcome the new flavors we’re always dreaming up and pouring in our taprooms. After all, why the hell not? The India Pale Ale we brew is our version of a brewing legacy. IPA’s name hails from its colonial roots. British soldiers in India didn’t have access to fresh beer, and the malty ales they attempted to take onboard their ships would soon go stale. By adding generous amounts of hops, they found the beers would better survive the voyage, thus a new style was born. Alc 7% Sometimes evolution is observed in real time. Case in point: Nu Juice IPA. Over the course of more than a year of development, our R&D team uncovered the ultimate balance of hops and malts. This process involves adding Mosaic, Ekuanot, and Simcoe hops over a multi-day period, creating a refreshingly juicy and approachable IPA. As an added bonus, bitterness has been reduced to a low 30 for what could be the smoothest IPA ever brewed.


A faint crescent moon hangs low in the azure sky as the last pinpricks of starlight disappear into the brightening day. Quiet, repetitious sounds float up from nearly invisible waves lapping the beach. A cool mist hangs at the water’s edge, obscuring the early morning light into a luminescent, golden glow. One can’t help but feel a sense of easy calm in this magically surreal moment, as if caught in a universal shift, a sort of heaven-on-Earth amid the Lake Shore Fog. Three words to describe Lake Shore Fog: hazy, juicy, refreshing. Three more: aromatic, delicious, golden. A year of brewing development has captured these attributes and rolled them into a brilliant new beer. We are using absurd amounts of hops, dry hopped on 4 different days, making it a juicy flavor and aroma bomb. A slight malty sweetness balances a dry and very mild finish which melds perfectly with its hazy appearance. Tropical, citrus, and stone fruit, and pleasingly floral character is marked with notes of big, dank, resinous Mosaic, Citra, and Amarillo hops. Enjoy!

Finder is the result of our ongoing search for new and innovative ways to brew the most flavorful styles of beer. This mouthwatering Double NE IPA has a hazy appearance, creamy mouthfeel and slightly warming, dry finish as a result of the higher ABV. The blend of El Dorado, Cascade & Mandarina Bavaria hops create very drinkable, juicy Double IPA, with hints of citrus fruits like tangerine & grapefruit, accompanied by subtle characteristics of pear & stone fruits.

That’s why, in 2010, we opened Baxter Brewing Co. in the iconic Lewiston Bates Mill. From the weavers and millwrights that once occupied the mill to the modern-day brewer you’ll meet when you pull up a stool, we all share the common traits of grit, determination and passion.

It may be the worst kept secret in New England, but Baxter Brewing has been having a torrid love affair with hops. For Hop Tryst, we combined eight different exotic and exciting hops to let everyone know just how enamored we are. To keep the base of the beer fresh and clean, we used only lightly kilned malts while adding a touch of oats and wheat to lend some smoothness. We held off on adding almost all of the hops until the end to highlight the aromatic expressiveness of the hops, rather than their capacity for bitterness. If you feel anything like we do, you’ll crush on its crushability and savor the hop flavors. New Belgium Brewing Company is a 100% employee-owned craft brewery located in Fort Collins, Colorado and Asheville is the maker of Fat Tire Amber Ale and many other craft beers. It was opened in 1991 by Jeff Lebesch and Kim Jordan. In 2016, it produced 957,968 barrels of its various labels.

Garry and Kelly Brown spent three years renovating a 175 year-old forgotten warehouse on a then-blighted River Street in Troy, NY building a highly regarded and loved brewery and taproom, the first of its kind in New York State. As brewers constantly refining their craft, the Browns sought more space and acquired a second blighted 175 year old factory space located in North Hoosick, NY. The Walloomsac Brewery and Taproom facility provided the opportunity for Brown’s beer to be brewed and packaged.

Boomsauce IPA Our flagship IPA features six hop varietals and a blend of spelt, oat and wheat. A late hop addition of Mosaic, Falconer’s Flight and Amarillo delivers a notable citrus and tropical fruit finish.



Our Beginning Our story begins in the Sandlot Brewery at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado, at the beginning of the 1995 baseball season. After earning his Ph.D. in brewing from the University of Brussels, our founder and head brewmaster Keith Villa returned stateside with the goal of brewing well-crafted beers inspired by Belgian styles, with a refreshing twist. Amongst the many beers one fan favorite emerged, in true baseball fashion they called it ‘Bellyslide Wit’. Someone said, “A beer this good only comes around once in a blue moon,” and thus Blue Moon® Belgian White Belgian-Style Wheat Ale was born.

We love making cider, but we reckon there’s only one way to do it properly. That’s why we’re still taking inspiration from the historic methods we used when we started making cider back in 1935. That’s part of the Magners taste. So in this way we use 17 varieties of apples, waiting until they drop before pressing and filtering them in the traditional way. We take time to ferment the cider and even more time to let it mature, up to 2 years in fact, tasting it along the way. Sure, there are faster ways of making cider, but then it wouldn’t be Magners.

In 1975, we brewed the first light beer that didn’t compromise on taste. And we’ve been doing it ever since. Miller Lite is the original light beer, brewed to have more taste and only 96 calories


The company was founded in 1840 in Newark, New Jersey, by Peter Ballantine (1791–1883), who emigrated from Scotland. The company was originally incorporated as the Patterson & Ballantine Brewing Company. Ballantine rented an old brewing site which had dated back to 1805. Around 1850, Ballantine bought out his partner and purchased land near the Passaic River to brew his ale. His three sons joined the business and in 1857 the company was renamed P. Ballantine and Sons. The name would be used for the next 115 years, until the company closed its brewery in May 1972. By 1879, it had become sixth largest brewery in the US, almost twice as large as Anheuser-Busch. Ballantine added a second brewery location, also in Newark, in order to brew lager beer to fill out the company product line. Peter Ballantine died in 1883 and his eldest son had died just a few months earlier. His second oldest son then controlled the company until his own death in 1895


Pabst Blue Ribbon is an American lager beer sold by Pabst Brewing Company, established in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1844 and currently based in Los Angeles. Originally called Best Select, and then Pabst Select, the current name comes from the blue ribbons tied around the bottle neck between 1882 and 1916.


A favorite among bartenders, brewers, and beer lovers in general, Miller High Life was launched as Miller Brewing Company’s flagship beer in 1903. Its crisp, easy-drinking flavor is the epitome of the American lager category. True to its original recipe, it’s brewed with a proprietary blend of malted barley, Galena hops from the Pacific Northwest, and Miller yeast.


The Theodore Hamm Brewing Company was established in 1865 when a German immigrant, Theodore Hamm (1825-1903) inherited the Excelsior Brewery from his friend and business associate, A. F. Keller, who had perished in California seeking his fortune in the gold fields. Unable to finance the venture himself, Keller had entered into a partnership with Hamm to secure funding. Upon Keller's death, Hamm inherited the small brewery and flour mill in the east side wilderness of St. Paul, Minnesota. Keller had constructed his brewery in 1860 over artesian wells in a section of the Phalen Creek valley in St. Paul then known as Swede Hollow. Hamm, a butcher by trade and local saloon owner, first hired Jacob Schmidt as a brew master.


1960 The goal was simple: a beer with the flavor of an ale and the smoothness of a lager. That's how Genesee Cream Ale (the brainchild of this brewery) became an American original. Today, every batch of Cream Ale is skillfully brewed to achieve its smooth character and a remarkably creamy white head worthy of its name
